You’ll need:

Any worsted yarn;

Knitting needles 3,75 mm and 4 mm.

Instructions

1st Layer

Cast on 50 sts.

1st row (WS): knit;

2nd row: knit;

3rd row: purl;

4th row: *knit2tog, yarn over*; repeat from* to *, 1 knit st;

5th row: purl;

6th row: * yarn over, knit2tog*; repeat from* to *, 1 knit st;

7th row: purl;

8th row: * 5 knit sts, knit2tog*; repeat from* to *, 5 knit sts;

9th row: knit;

10th-12th rows: knit;

13th row: purl;

14th row: as the 4th row;

15th row: purl;

16th row: as the 6th row;

17th row: purl;

18th row: * 5 knit sts, knit2tog*; repeat from* to *, 5 knit sts (= 20 sts);

19th-20th rows: knit;

21st row: purl;

22nd row: * 2 knit sts, knit2tog*; repeat from* to *, 2 knit sts (= 12 sts);

23rd row: purl;

24th row: * 1 knit st, knit2tog*; repeat from* to *, 1 knit st (= 12 sts);

25th row: purl;

26th row: * 1 knit st, knit2tog*; repeat from* to * (= 4 sts);

27th row: purl;

28th row: knit2tog x twice;

29th row: purl2tog.

Bind off.

2nd Layer

Caston 25 sts. Lift-cast on 25 sts (RS) along the edge of the 1st layer and work with knit sts. Then, work in the same way, as for the 1st layer.

3rd Layer

Cast on-lift 25 sts along the left side of the 1st layer, turn, cast on 25 sts and make them as knit sts. Then, work in the same way, as for the 1st layer.

Continue work due to the scheme.

Half-Layer (UpperPart)

Caston 25 sts. Cast on-lift 25 sts from the left side of layer on the right side and make them as knit sts.

1st row (WS): knit;

2nd row: 1 knit st, knit2tog, knit to the last 3 sts, knit2tog, 1 knit st;

3rd row: purl;

4th row: * 1 knit st, knit2tog, 1 knit st, knit2tog, yarn over*; repeat from * to *, 1 knit st, knit2tog, 1 knit st;

5th row: purl;

6th row: * 1 knit st, knit2tog, 1 knit st, yarn over, knit2tog*; repeat from * to *, 1 knit st, knit2tog, 1 knit st;

7th row: purl;

8th row: * 1 knit st, knit2tog, 3 knit sts, knit2tog*; repeat from * to *, 3 knit sts, knit2tog, 1 knit st;

9th row: knit;

10th row: * 1 knit st, knit2tog, knit to the last 3 sts, knit2tog, 1 knit st;

11th row: knit;

12th row: * 1 knit st, knit2tog, yarn over, knit2tog*; repeat from * to *, knit2tog, 1 knit st (= 22 sts);

13th row: purl;

14th row: * 1 knit st, knit2tog x twice, yarn over*; repeat from * to *, knit2tog, 1 knit st (= 20 sts);

15th row: purl;

16th row: * 1 knit st, knit2tog, 1 knit st, knit2tog *; repeat from * to *, 1 knit st, knit2tog, 1 knit st (= 12 sts);

17th row: purl;

18th row: 1 knit st, knit2tog, knit to the last 3 sts, knit2tog, 1 knit st (= 10 sts);

19th row: purl.

Transfer the last 10 sts to the yarn, using it as stitch holder.

Continue making the half of motifs in the same way, cast on the sts, as making full motifs.

Fringe

Cast on 14 sts along the upper part of shawl with knitting needles 3,75 mm and work with knit sts.

Then, knit 10 sts from the holder, cast on-lift 14 sts along the rest half of waver (totally, 38 sts for each section). Repeat along all the waver-layers. Make 5 rows of garter stitch, bind off the sts loosely.
