Knit Jacket with Slipped Pattern

You’ll need:

300 (350) 400g of Organico (100% cotton, 90m/50g);

200 (250) 250g of grey and olive Secondo yarn (50% cotton, 30% polyamide, 20% silk; 125m/50g);

Knitting needles 4 and 5,5;

Crochet hook 4;

5 buttons.

Size: S (M) L.

Note: work in 2 threads of yarn: 1 grey and 1 olive yarn together.

Used Patterns

Pattern of slipped sts: the quantity of sts is odd. Start and finish every row with 1 selvage st. Make selvage st in RS row as knit st, in WS row as purl. 1st row, Secondo: * 1 knit st, slip 1 purl, yarn in front of work*; repeat from * to *;

2nd row, Secondo: * slip 1 purl, yarn behind work, 1 purl*; repeat from * to *, 1 purl;

3rd row, Organico: as the 1st row.

4th row, Organico, as the 2nd row.

Repeat 1st-4th rows.

Stitches control: 21,5 sts x 34,5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 99 (107) 115 sts with knitting needles 4 and Organico yarn and make 1 WS row of knit sts (don’t take this row into account). Then, change to knitting needles 5,5 and work with pattern of slipped sts. In 10 cm = 34 rows from the set-up row, bind off 1 st from both sides for better fitting and 5 x 1 st in every 8th row = 87 (95) 103 sts. In 27 cm = 94 rows from the set-up row, increase 1 st from both sides, 3 x 1 st in every 6th row and 2 x 1 st in every 4th row = 99 (107) 115 sts, include the increased sts in the pattern. In 36 cm = 124 rows from the set-up row, bind off 10 sts from both sides for arm-holes = 79 (87) 95 sts. In 53,5 cm = 184 rows (55,5 cm = 192 rows) 58 cm = 200 rows from the set-up row, bind off the central 23 (27) 31 sts and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 2 x 5 sts in every 2nd row. In 55 cm = 190 rows (57 cm = 198 rows) 59,5 cm = 206 rows from the set-up row, bind off the rest 18 (20) 22 sts of shoulder from each side.

Left Front

Cast on 51 (55) 59 sts with knitting needles 4 and Organico yarn and make 1 WS row of knit sts. Then, change to knitting needles 5,5 and work with the pattern of slipped sts. Make fitting for arm-hole from the right side in the same way, as for back = 41 (45) 49 sts. In 46,5 cm = 160 rows (48,5 cm = 168 rows) 51 cm = 176 rows from the set-up row, bind off 4 (6) 6 sts for neck-hole from the left side and 1 x 4 (4) 6 sts, 7 x 2 sts and 1 x 1 st in every 2nd row. Bind off the rest 18 (20) 22 sts of shoulder at the height of back.

Right Front

Make in symmetry to the left front with 5 button-holes.

Sleeves

Cast on 53 (61) 69 sts with knitting needles 4 and Organico yarn and make 1 WS row of knit sts. Then, change to knitting needles 5,5 and work with the pattern of slipped sts. At the same time, increase 14 x 1 st in every 8th row from the set-up row = 81 (89) 97 sts, include the increased sts in the pattern. In 37 cm = 128 rows from the set-up row, bind off all the sts.

Pocket

Make 2. Cast on 11 sts with knitting needles 4 and Organico yarn and work with pattern of slipped sts and knitting needles 5,5. At the same time, increase 2 x 2 sts and 2 x 1 st in every 2nd row from both sides = 23 sts, include the increased sts in the pattern. In 11,5 cm = 40 rows from the set-up row, bind off all the sts. Fasten all the pockets with 1 circle row of slip sts and Organico yarn and 1 circle row of “shrimp stitch”.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. Sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams. Fasten the neck-hole with Organico yarn. Sew pockets and buttons.
