Instructions
Back
Cast on 116 (128) 134 sts and work in the following way: 1 selvage st, 37 (41) 45 sts of main pattern with dark-grey yarn, 5 sts of stockinette stitch, 32 sts of the central pattern and 5 sts of stockinette stitch with light-grey yarn, 37 (41) 45 sts of main pattern and 1 selvage st with dark-grey yarn. In 66 cm = 164 rows from the set-up row, bind off the central 16 sts for neck-hole and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts in every 2nd row from inwards. Bind off the rest 46 (50) 54 sts of shoulder in 68 cm = 170 rows from the set-up row.
Front
Make in the same way, as back, but with V-shape neck-hole. For this, in 46 cm = 114 rows from the set-up row, divide your work in the middle and finish both sides separately, knit 1 selvage st form both sides and 4 sts without crossing. For neck-hole chamfer, knit the first st in the central area of stockinette stitch together with the next knit st or the last st on the central area of stockinette stitch together with the next st as broaching (= slip 1 knit st, 1 knit st, draw it through the slipped st) in every 4th row x 13 times. Bind off the rest 46 (50) 54 sts of shoulder at the same height, as for back.
Sleeves
Cast on 47 (51) 55 sts with knitting needles and work with the main pattern. At the same time, increase 31 x 1 st in every 4th row from both sides from the set-up row, include the increased sts in the pattern = 109 (113) 117 sts. In 51 cm = 126 rows from the set-up row, bind off all the sts.
Assembly
Make shoulder seams; fasten the neck-hole line with 1 circle row of “shrimp stitch” with light-grey yarn. Sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams. Sew the buttons from both sides of the central pattern, as it’s shown in the picture.
