Knit Bolero with Wavy Pattern

You’ll need:

550 (650)g of beige Corso yarn (35% cotton, 35% polyacryl, 30% viscose; 90m/50g);

Knitting needles and circular knitting needles 4,5;

3 buttons with 3 cm diameter.

Size: S (M).

Used Patterns

2 x 2 rib;

Main pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 14 + 1 (5) + 2 selvage sts, work due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated. Make WS rows and yarn overs as purls. Start with selvage st and sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, 1 selvage st (start with selvage st and st near arrow, pattern repeat, finish at double arrow and 1 selvage st). Repeat 1st-32nd rows.

Knot edge: make selvage st as knit st.

Stitches control: 17,5 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Note: make as one-piece detail across from sleeve to sleeve.

Instructions

Cast on 38 (42) sts and make 8 cm of rib for the placket and increase 7 sts in the last row = 45 (49) sts. Then, work with the main pattern and at the same time, increase 5 x 1 st in every 10th row, 6 x 1 st in every 8th row, 1 x 1 st in every 6th row, 1 x 1 st in every 4th row, then, 1 x 1 st, 1 x 2 sts, 2 x 3 sts and4 x 4 sts in every 2nd row (6 x 1 st in every 10th row, 1 x 1 st in every 8th row, 8 x 1 st in every 6th row, 4 x 1 st in every 4th row, then, 3 x 1 st, 1 x 2 sts, 2 x 3 sts and 4 x 4 sts in every 2nd row) due to the ornament or cast on extra sts = 121 (129) sts. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 1 st along the left side in 52 cm = 136 rows from rib, then, 2 x 1 st in every 8th row, 2 x 1 st in every 6th row, 1 x 1 st in every 4th row, 2 x 2 sts, 1 x 3 (4) sts and 1 x 1 st in every 4th row = 26 (29) sts.

At the same time, in 57 cm = 148 rows from rib, leave 60 (64) sts of back open and at first, finish the left front. Bind off 1 x 5 sts from inwards for the neck-hole, then, 1 x 4 sts, 1 x 3 sts, 2 x 2 sts, 5 x 1 st in every 2nd row. In 67,5 cm = 176 rows from rib, the left front is finished. Cast on 26 (29) sts for the right front and make in reflection to the left front. Continue work with the main pattern with RS rows, which follows the last row of the left front. In 10,5 cm = 28 rows, leave the sts of the right front open and continue work with back. Bind off 1 x 2 sts from inwards for the neck-hole and 2 x 1 st in every 2nd row = 56 (60) sts. In 67,5 cm = 176 rows the middle of back is reached, finish back in reflection way from this place and continue work with the main pattern, increase sts of the right front in the end of neck-hole, then, work on all the sts. In 135 cm = 352 rows from rib, make rib for the right sleeve, decrease 7 sts in the 1st row = 38 (42) sts. Bind off the sts due to the ornament after making 8 cm of rib.

Assembly

Make side and sleeve seams. Cast on 35 sts along the chamfers and 62 sts along the back neck-hole with circular knitting needles and work with rib on all 132 sts. Start with 2 purls and finish with knot edge in WS row between selvage sts. In 16 cm, bind off all the sts due to the ornament. Cast on 66 (75) sts along the edges of front for the placket and 72 (82) sts along the lower edge of back with circular knitting needles = 204 (232) sts. Work with rib, start WS row with 2 purls. Make 3 button-loops on the right front in 1,5 cm from the beginning of work. For this, bind off 3 sts for each loop and cast them on again in the next row. Sew the buttons.
