Knit Pullover with Wavy Stripes

You’ll need:

150 (200)g of khaki yarn (66% cotton, 22% polyamide, 12% wool; 145m/50g);

100g of the same yarn, but in light-grey, peachy, sandy, pink, grey-blue and tender-green colors;

Knitting needles 4 and 5;

Circular knitting needles 4.

Size: S (M).

Used Patterns

Garter stitch: knit;

Wavy pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 17 + 2 selvage sts. Work due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated. Make WS rows as they face, yarn overs as purls. Repeat pattern between selvage sts. Repeat 1st-4th row, for front and back finish with the 5th and 6th rows.

Strips order: 3 khaki rows, * 4 light-grey rows, 4 sandy rows, 4 peachy rows, 4 pink rows, 4 grey-blue rows, 4 tender green rows, 4 khaki rows*; repeat from * to *,

Note: change the color of yarn in 1 WS row (= the 4th row of the scheme).

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls.

Stitches control: wavy pattern: 25,5 sts x 31 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Garter stitch: 22,5 sts x 42 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 138 (155) sts with khaki yarn and knitting needles 5 and make 1 cm = 3 rows of garter stitch for placket, starting from 1 WS row. Continue work with wavy pattern due to the strips order. In 45 cm = 140 rows from placket (= after 1 WS row in khaki color), make 5th and 6th rows due to the scheme = 122 (137) sts. In 46 cm = 142 rows from placket, continue work with garter stitch and knitting needles 4 with khaki yarn. In 5,5 cm = 24 rows (7,5 cm = 32 rows) from patterns change, bind off 1 x 3 sts from both sides for shoulder chamfer, then, bind off 10 x 3 sts (4 x 3 sts and 6 x 4 sts) in every 2nd row. At the same time, in 9,5 cm = 40 rows (11,5 cm = 48 rows) from patterns change, bind off the central 40 (41) sts for neck-hole and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 3 sts and 1 x 2 sts in every 2nd row from inwards. In 11 cm = 46 rows (13 cm = 54 rows) from patterns change, bind off the rest 3 (4) sts of shoulder.

Front

Make in the same way, as back, but with deeper neck-hole, in 5,5 cm = 24 rows (7,5 cm = 32 rows) from patterns change, bind off the central 30 (31) sts, then, bind off 2 x 2 sts and 6 x 1 st in every 2nd row.

Sleeves

Cast on 70 (78) sts with knitting needles 5 and khaki tarn for each sleeve and make placket in the same way, as for back. Continue work with wavy pattern due to the strips order. In 37,5 cm = 116 rows from placket, increase 1 x 1 st from both sides for sleeve chamfers, then, bind off 2 x 1 st in every 8th row = 76 (93) sts.

Note: 1st and 2nd rows of the scheme mean stockinette stitch, 3rd and 4th rows – garter stitch. In 46 cm = 142 rows from placket, bind off all sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. Cast on 102 (104) sts along neck-hole with circular knitting needles and khaki yarn and make 4 circle rows of knit sts. Bind off all sts as knit sts. Sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams.
