Olivia Crochet Swim Suit
You’ll need:
250g of 100% cotton yarn (120m/50g) of olive color;
100g of the same yarn, but orange color;
50g of the same yarn, but blue color;
Crochet hook 3,5.
Size: S.
Used Patterns
Relief pattern:
1st row: 3 chain sts increase, double crochets to end of row;
2nd row: 2 chain sts increase, relief crochets to end of row (catch the yarn, insert the crochet hook behind the double crochet of the previous row, draw it and make double crochet), finish with relief crochet, make it behind chain st increase of the previous row;
3rd row: 2 chain sts increase, relief crochet to end of row, finish with relief crochet, make it behind chain st increase of the previous row.
Make 1st-3rd rows once, then repeat 2nd-3rd rows.
Colors Order
Alternate the 2 rows of olive yarn with 2 rows of orange yarn.
Relief Fringe
The quantity of sts is multipled 16 + 1 + 1 chain st increase. Work due to the scheme. Start with sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat. Make chain sts increase, while turning from one row to the new one. Make 1st-9th rows once, don’t forget to work due to the colors order.
Stitches control: relief crochets: 22 sts x 13 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
Relief fringe: 9 rows = 8 cm.
Instructions
Swim Trunks
Make the front part of swim trunks with olive yarn. Make 17 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase. Then, make the stripes with relief pattern.
After 4,5 cm (6 rows) from the set-up chain, decrease 1 st x 1, then 1 st x 1 in every 4th row. You should get 13 sts.
After 11 cm (14 rows) from the set-up chain, increase 1 st x 1 from both sides, then 1 st x 3 in every 2nd row and 1 st x 6 in every row. Then, increase 2 sts x 2 in every row, 3 sts x 1, 16 sts x 1. Continue work on all increased sts. There are 79 sts in work.
After 26 cm (34 rows) from the set-up chain, finish your work.
Start making back part with olive yarn. Make 17 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase. Then, make the stripes with relief pattern.
Increase 2 sts x 1 from both sides in the 2nd row from the set-up chain, then 2 sts x 3 in every row, 1 st x 21. Continue work on all increased sts. There are 79 sts in work.
After 23 cm (30 rows) from the set-up chain, finish your work.
For relief fringe, make 161 chain sts + 1 chain st increase. Then, work due to the scheme. In 8 cm (9 rows) from the set-up chain, finish your work.
Make leg and side seams on the swim trunks.
Sew the relief fringe in the ring, make left side seam. Sew the end of fringe to the upper edge of swim trunks.
Bra
Start making left part with 17 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase with olive yarn. Work with relief pattern.
In 7,5 cm (10 rows) from the set-up chain, increase 17 sts x 1 along the left edge. There are 34 sts. Continue work on all the sts.
In 15 cm (20 rows) from the set-up chain, finish your work.
Make the right part in reflection to the left.
Join the ends of each part due to the pattern design, connect the marks. Connect both part with 8 chain sts with olive yarn.
Fasten the bottom part of bra, including connecting chain of 8 chain sts with 1 row of single crochets and 1 row of “shrimp stitch” with olive yarn. Fasten the central part of chain sts from both sides.
Make 61 chain sts + 1 chain st increase with olive yarn for relief fringe. Make the fringe due to the description of back. Sew it along the bottom part of bra, leaving the ends of 2,5 pattern repeats long.
For straps, make a chain 140 cm long with olive yarn. Make 1 row of single crochets on this chain. Insert the strap through the holes of relief fringe ornament in the 2nd row.
For 2 neck straps, make 2 chains 75 cm long each. Make 1 row of single crochets on each chain. Sew the straps to the edges of bra.
