Nice Office Style Suit

You’ll need:

For blouse:

300 (400)g of mixed yarn (cotton, viscose, linen, polyamide; 125m/50g);

For skirt:

350 (400)g of the same yarn, as for blouse;

Straight knitting needles 3 and;

Circle knitting needles 4;

Elastic ribbon 15 mm wide for the skirt belt.

Size: S (M).

Used Patterns

Stockinette stitch: in right-side rows – knit sts, in wrong-side rows – purls;

Wrong side: in right-side rows – purls, in wrong-side rows – knit sts.

Relief pattern: due to the scheme:

Wrong-side rows – all purls;

Relief 1 (see the scheme 1): the quantity of sts is multipled 20 + 1 + 2 selvedge sts. Start with 1 selvedge st, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat, 1 selvedge st/

Make 1st-62nd rows, then repeat 57th-62nd rows.

Relief 2 (see the scheme 2): the quantity of sts is multipled 11 + 0 (8) sts + 2 selvedge sts.

Make 1 selvedge st, the last 9 sts of the pattern, repeat the pattern, finish with the first 9 sts of the pattern, 1 selvedge st.

Repeat 1st-6th rows.

Stitches control: relief pattern with knitting needles 3,5: 23 sts x 34 rows = 10 x 10 cm; with knitting needles 4: 22,5 sts x 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 103 (123) sts with knitting needles 4 and make the placket – 2 wrong-side rows (0,5 cm). Continue working with relief pattern 1. In 88 rows (27,5 cm) from the placket bind off 4 sts x 1 from both sides for arm-hole, then, 3 sts x 1, 2 sts x 1, 1 st x 1 (3) in every even row. You should get 110 (118) 126 sts. In 142 rows (44,5 cm), 156 rows (48,5 cm) from the placket, bind off the central 33 sts for the neck-hole. Finish each side separately. Make decreases for smooth rounding of neck-hole: 5 sts x 2 in every even row along the inner side. In 148 rows (46,5 cm), 162 rows (50,5 cm) bind off the sts.

Front

Make in the same way, as back, but with deeper neck-hole: in 124 rows (39 cm), 138 rows (43 cm) bind off the central 23 sts, then 5 sts x1, 3 sts x 1, 1 st x 5 in every even row.

Sleeves

Cast on 57 (75) sts with knitting needles 4 and make 2 rows of wrong side rows (0,5 cm). For widening, increase 1 st x 1 in the 3rd row from both sides and 1 st x 1, then, 1 st x 6 times in every even row (1 st x 2 in every 4th row and 1 st x 4 in every 6th row). You should get 71 (89) sts. Include all the increased sts in the ornament. For forming cap, in 18 rows (5,5 cm), 22 rows (7 cm) bind off 3 sts x 1 from both sides, 1 st x 18 (20) in every even row, 2 sts x 1, 3(4) sts x 1. After 60 rows (19 cm), 68 rows (21,5 cm), bind off all the 19 (31) sts.

Assembly

Sew up the shoulder seams. Lift 116 sts of neck-hole and knit them in the following way:

1st row: purl;

2nd row: * 1 yarn over, knit2tog*; repeat from * to * to end of row;

3rd row: knit;

4th row: purl;

5th row: bind off all the sts as purls.

Sew the sleeves, sides and sleeves.

Skirt

Make 2 samedetails.

Cast on 103 (123) sts with knitting needles 3,5 and make 2 rows (0,5 cm) of wrong side rows. Then, continue with relief pattern 1. In 118 rows (34,5 cm) decrease 1 st x 6 (7): 1 selvedge st, knit2tog as broaching (slip 1 knit st, 1 knit st, draw it through the slipped), then, decrease 1 st in the middle of 4 (5) stripes of stockinette stitch., decrease 1 st, knit2tog, 1 selvedge st. Totally, 97 (116) sts. Make the same decreases in the 42nd and 24th rows. Totally, 85 (102) sts. In 196 rows (57,5 cm) from belt, make only knit sts. After 7 rows (2 cm) make fold line: 1 row from wrong side with knit sts. Then – 6 rows of stockinette stitch. In 210 rows (61,5 cm) bind off the sts.

Sew up the sides. Fold along the belt line, sew, leave space for elastic ribbon. Insert it and sew the ends.
