Notes

  • The top is made of front panel and back panel.
  • If you want the top to be longer, just add rows to the front and back panel, but don't add too many rows because the top is meant to be cropped and will lose its shape.
  • It's crocheted from bottom to top.
  • Use a 4 mm hook unless it says otherwise.
  • Ch 2 doesn't count as a stitch.
  • Use a larger hook size around the neck if needed. The edge could be much smaller after making two rounds of sl sts around the neck.
  • Foundation double crochet (fdc) does not count as a row.

    Assembling

Place the back and the front panel on top of each other with the right sides facing and sew the shoulders with a sl st. Make sure you don’t skip sts. So start with a sl st in the 1st stitch of both panels and then the 2nd st of the both panels… When you reach the last st of the front panel, you are done! Finish off.
Repeat on the other side/shoulder and finish off.

    Sleeves

You will be working on body sides. With a stitch marker mark 19th row of front and back panel (count the fdc row too!). With the right side facing you, attach the yarn in the 19th row, ch 1, and work 2 scs in each dc row across.
For row 2 place the stitch markers in 15th st row from the left side of row 1 and from the right side of row 1. This is the part (between yellow stitch markers) where you will be making dc2tog in every st.

Row 2: ch 2, turn. Dc until you reach the yellow stitch marker, dc2tog until you reach the 2nd yellow stitch marker, dc across. When you make 1st and last dc2tog move the stitch marker on the stitch you just made, because for row three you will be making dc2tog between yellow stitch markers again.
Row 3: ch 2, turn. Dc until you reach the stitch marker, dc2tog until you reach the 2nd stitch marker, dc across.

Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing the sleeve and body sides together.

Sew the sleeves and the body sides together with a sl st.

    Neckline

With the right side facing you attach the yarn in the middle of the back side of the neck line where you joined the left and right side of the back panel.
Round 1: ch 1 (counts as a stitch), sk 1st st, sl st evenly across and join with a sl st in ch 1.
Round 2: ch 1 (counts as a stitch), sk 1st st, blo sl st across and join with sl st in ch 1.

    Finish off.

    Bottom Body Edge

With right side facing and with a 3 mm hook attach the yarn on the center of the back panel’s bottom edge.
Round 1: Ch 1 (counts as a st), sk 1st st, sl st evenly along the edge. Sl st into 1st ch to join, turn.
Round 2: Ch 1 (counts as a st), turn, sk 1st st, blo sl st in each st around, sl st into 1st ch to join. Finish off.
