Crochet Sweet Little Avocado

Supplies
Furls Crochet Odyssey Hook in 3.5mm
6.5mm safety eyes
Less than a skein of light green, dark green, tan yarn
Black thread for the eyelashes, eyebrows and mouth
Stuffing, scissors and a sewing needle
The Pattern
Front of Avocado
Rnd1: With light green yarn sc x 6 in a magic ring, or ch x 2 and do 6 sc in the second chain from your hook (6)
Rnd2: Inc x 6 (12)
Rnd3: [Sc, inc] x 6 (18)
Rnd4: [Sc x 2, inc] x 6 (24)
Rnd5: [Sc x 3, inc] x 5, place your first safety eye in the last stitch you just did, sc x 3, place your second safety eye in the last stitch, inc (30)
Row6: You won’t be working in the round for the next few rows. Turn your work, ch, sc x 7 (7)
Row7: Turn, ch, dec, sc x 3, dec (5)
Row8: Turn, ch, dec, sc, dec (3)
Rnd9: Turn, ch, now sc around the entire piece, fasten off (no stitch count).
Back of Avocado
Rnd 1-9: Work the same as the Front of the Avocado.
Rnd10-14: Sc around the entire piece, fasten off at the end of Rnd14 (no stitch count).
Avocado Pit
Rnd1: With tan yarn sc x 6 in a magic ring, or ch x 2 and do 6 sc in the second chain from your hook (6)
Rnd2: Inc x 6 (12)
Rnd3: [Sc x 4, dec] x 3, leave a long tail and fasten off (15)
Assembly

Place the pit on top of the top layer of your avocado and sew it in place, before sewing it completely shut add in some stuffing. Make sure your eyes are firmly in place. I used dress making pins and pinned the top and the bottom half of the avocado together, then using the long tail of the back of your avocado I sewed them together, sewing through both pieces in the last round. Before you sew your avocado shut completely stuff it firmly as you are working. Trim all ends and weave them in. Sew on a mouth and eyebrows. Enjoy your new little sweet avocado!
