Materials-
F/5 (3.75 MM) crochet hook
Yarn or tapestry needle
Scissors
Stitchmarkers
Polyester Fiberfill

Special stitches-
Back Loop Only: Insert the hook through the back loop of the stitch only (the loop closest to the inside of the round). Then complete the stitch as usual.

Half Double Crochet: Yarn over. Insert the hook through the indicated stitch or space. Yarn over and pull through. With three loops on the hook, yarn over and pull through all three loops at once to complete the stitch.

Rnd 4: (Inc, Sc 3) rep 3 times (15 sts)
Rnd 5: Sc 15 (15 sts)

Finish off with a sl st and weave in ends.

Limbs
Use Ecru yarn. Make 4.
Rnd 1: Sc 6 in magic ring OR Ch 2, Sc 6 in 2nd ch from hook
Rnd 2: (Inc, Sc 2) rep 2 times (8 sts)
Rnds 3-4: Sc 8 (8 sts)
Rnd 5: (Dec, Sc 2) rep 2 times (6 sts)
Rnd 6: Sc 6 (6 sts)
Finish off, but leave the ends of the limbs open. Stuff and set aside.

Tail
Use Ecru yarn.
Rnd 1: Sc 6 in magic ring OR Ch 2, Sc 6 in 2nd ch from hook
Rnd 2: Inc 5, Sl st (11 sts)
Finish off with a sl st and weave in ends.

Head Cap
Use White yarn.
Rnd 1: Sc 6 in magic ring OR Ch 2, Sc 6 in 2nd ch from hook
Rnd 2: Inc 6 (12 sts)
Rnd 3: (3 Hdc, Sl st) rep 6 times (24 sts)
Finish off with a sl st and weave in ends.

Body
Use White yarn.
Rnd 1: Sc 6 in magic ring OR Ch 2, Sc 6 in 2nd ch from hook
Rnd 2: Inc 6 (12 sts)
Rnd 3: Working in the BLO: (Inc, Sc) rep 6 times (18 sts)
Rnd 4: BLO Sc 18 (18 sts)
Rnd 5: BLO (Inc, Sc 2) rep 6 times (24 sts)
Rnds 6-7: BLO Sc 24 (24 sts)
Rnd 8: BLO (Dec, Sc 2) rep 6 times (18 sts)

Stuff.
Rnd 10: Dec 6 (6 sts)
Finish off with a sl st and weave in ends. This is the bottom of the sheep’s body. Turn the body right-side up. The BLO stitches have left a spiral of unworked loops. Anchor into the first loop by inserting the hook from the top to the bottom. Yarn over and pull through. Then yarn over and pull through. Insert the hook into the original loop again; yarn over and pull through. You should now have two loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull through both loops to form the first single crochet of Rnd 11.
Rnd 11: (Sc 2, Sl St, Hdc, Sl st) rep 32 times around (160 sts)

Finishing-

Sew the Head Cap to the back of the head. Position it high enough that you can see three of the lobes above the top of the head. Use Black yarn to make French knot eyes on either side of the face and a mouth if you want one. The legs should be sewn to the bare space at the bottom of the body; the arms should be sewn between two layers of the wool on either side of the body. The tail goes on the back of the body near the bottom. Then sew the bottom of the head to the top of the body to complete your Sweet Sheep.
