US-H, 5.0mm hook - Susan Bates

20-50 yds Lily Sugar'n Cream
(4 - Worsted; 100% cotton; 71g / 2.5 oz, 109 m / 120 yds)
Colorways shown: Orchid, Hot Green, Yellow (WIP)

Stitch markers

Gauge: 7 sc = 2"

Sizes:

Standard Bar Soap - approx 3" x 4.25" empty and laid flat, excluding "ears"
Small Hotel Soap - approx 2.5" x 3" empty and laid flat, excluding "ears"

NOTES:

Use a stitch marker in the first stitch of every round to help you keep your place.

Note that this pattern starts with one row, and then switches to rounds. Some rounds begin with a ch 1 and others do not - this is intentional.

Rather than joining the mesh rounds with a sl st, they are joined with a dc in the first st. This puts the hook in the correct position to begin the next round without needing to slip stitch into the next ch sp. This dc counts as one of the 8 loops.
