How to crochet plastic holder

Section 1 – Base

Chain 8, join with a sl st to the first chain to form a circle.

Round 1: Ch 1, 12 sc around the circle, join. 12 sc

  • Place the stitch marker on the last stitch and move it after every round, no need to join.

Round 2: 2 sc in each around. 24 sc

Round 3 :*sc in next st, 2 sc in next, repeat from * around. 36 sc

With a sl st, close the height difference.

Section 2: Body

Round 1: Ch 1, in BLO, sc in each st around, join with a sl st to the beginning ch. 36 sc

Round 2: Ch 3, xdc around, join with a sl st to the beginning ch. 18 xdc

Rounds 3 – 10: Repeat Round 2

Increase or reduce the repeats for a desirable length.

Round 11: Ch 2, hdc in each st around, join with a sl st to the beginning ch.

Rounds 12 – 14: Ch 2, in 3rd loop, hdc in each st around, join with a sl st to the beginning ch.

Round 15: Ch 1, sl st in each 3rd loop around, join.

Fasten off

Section 3 – Handle

Select the best points on your basket

First side of the handle

Join yarn with a sl st to the 4th loop (first ridge created when you worked into the 3rd loop)

Step 1 – *Ch 1, insert hook into the next loop, sl st, repeat from * until all the loops in that straight line have been used.

Step 2 – Chain 22, hdc in 3rd Ch from hook and in the remaining chains, continue to the remaining sts on the basket, sl at into these sts.

Step 3 – Select the next loop on the basket, (the loop next to where you started your handle)

Step 4 –Slip stitch into this stitch and the next 4 sts.

Step 5 – Fold your bag handle and sl st to secure the tip of the handle to the bag

Weave in all ends.
