​Honeycomb Knit Skirt

Valley Yarns Sheffield (70% Merino wool, 15% silk, 15% Angora wool; 110m/50g) of grey colour 30-5 (5, 6, 6, 7) skeins;

Circle knitting needles 5 and 8 mm;

Auxilary circle knitting of smaller size, than working one;

Tapestry needle;

Catch cord.

This skirt is knitted from up to down without any formings, elastic ornament of cloth creates form-fitting silhouette. Choose 1-4 smaller size, than your real hips circumference. The skirt is knitted with wrong side outwards.

Turn down the work to yourself in order to see the opposite (wrong) side. Insert left-hand needle from up to down under 3 broaching sts, knit these 3 sts together as purl with the next st on the left-hand needle.

The quantity of sts is multipled 6.

1st, 2nd and 3rd circle rows: * slip 3 sts as if to purl, with yarn behind work, 3 knit sts; repeat from * to end of row.

7th, 8th and 9th circle rows: * 3 knit sts, slip 3 sts as if to purl; repeat from * to end of row.

Repeat 1-12 circle rows.

Cast on 69 (75, 84, 93, 99) sts temporary with knitting needles of smaller size, but don't circle them, * 1 row of knit sts, 1 row of purls* twice. Take out the catch cord of the temporary cast on and place 69 (75, 84, 93, 99) sts on the auxilary needle. Hold the needles in parallel with each other, auxilary needle is behind, wrong side of trim is inwards. Next row: * 1 knit st from the front needle, 1 purl from the back needle; repeat from * to end -138 (150, 168, 186, 198) sts. Place marker and circle your work. Continue with rib 1 knit st, 1 purl, until the detail is 4,5 cm from work beginning.

Knit 1-12 rows of honeycomd ornament once. Change to bigger needles. Continue with this ornament until the details is 17,5" from the work beginning. Loosely bind off the sts.
