400g of Schachenmayr original Bravo Big yarn (200g for cowl and 200g for hat, 100% acryl, 120m/200g), colour 00105;

Circle knitting needles 9 and 10 (40 cm long);

Double pointed knitting needles 10;

Needle.

Ornament with braids A and B: knit with circle rows due to the scheme. Make ornament with braids A from 1st to 22nd circle rows once. Make ornament with braids B from 1st to 8th circle rows once, then repeat from 5th to 8th circle rows.

Stitches control, ornament with braids A and B, knitting needles 10: 10 sts and 12 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Cast on 60 sts on knitting needles 9, circle them and knit 5 cm with rib. Then, knit ornament with braids A with knitting needles 10, repeat 30 sts of pattern twice. In 18 cm from the placket, in 22 circle rows of ornament with braids, knit 5 cm of rib with knitting needles 9, then bind off the sts. Total height = 28 cm. Wind the following 6 sts of braid with yarn folded 3 times: from 5th to 10th sts in 5th and 17th rows. To make this, cut 12 threads of yarn 15 cm long, insert the needle with thread before 6 sts of braid on the right sideand after 6 sts of braid insert the needle on wrong side, tighten 6 sts a little bit and make a knot from wrong side.

Cast on 45 sts with knitting needles 9, circle them and knit 5 cm with rib. Then, knit ornament with braids B with knitting needles 10, repeat 15 sts of pattern 3 times. In 18 cm from the placket, in 22 circle rows from ornament with braids, start making decreases. To make this, place sts on the double pointed needles in the next circle row (11 sts for 1st, 2nd, 3rd needles each and 12 sts on the 4th needle) and knit with stockinette stitch. In the next circle row knit 22 x 2 knit sts together, 1 knit = 23 sts; then in the next 2nd circle row knit 11 x 2 knit sts together, 1 knit = 12 sts and one more time in the next 2nd circle row 6 x 2 knit sts together. Cut the yarn, draw it twice through the rest sts and tighten.
