Start 3rd row with shorten rows, i.e. start with 1 selvedge st, 23 knit sts, leave 6 sts slip. In order not to make hole between 24th and 25th sts, slip 25th st (it's the first from slip sts) on the right hand needle, working needle to the back of the st, then working needle in front of your work, then return this st on the left hand needle.
Turn your work and make 24 knit sts, next row: 1 selvedge st, 24 knit sts, leave 5 sts slip. At the place, where we slip working thread into slip st, you can see "step" from 2 sts.
Make winding with working thread, then at 26th st, turn your work and knit on the wrong side 25 knit sts. Knit to the last st on the left hand needle.
You've made the first cam of your hat.
Then, start the next row the same way as 3rd row, described above, etc.
Make 7 cams the same way.
