White Crochet Vest
You’ll need:
500g of white yarn (30% wool, 70% acryl; 250m/100g);
Crochet hook 3.
Size: S.
Instructions
Back
Make 78 chain sts + 2 chain sts increase. Work with the main pattern due to the scheme. At 30 cm height from the set-up row, decrease 3 x 1 st from both sides with the interval of 4 cm. At 50 cm height, there are 72 cm in work. Then, make decreases for arm-holes due to the pattern design. At 23 cm height from the beginning of arm-holes, make neck-hole and shoulder chamfers due to the pattern design.
Front
Make 20 chain sts + 2 chain sts increase. Work with main pattern due to the scheme. Make increases from one side due to the pattern design, starting from the 2nd row. In 16 cm, there are 17 pattern repeats in work (14 sts are increased). Crochet 16 cm straight, then, 16 cm more, increasing sts due to the pattern design. There are 20 pattern repeats in work (16 sts are increased). Crochet 9 cm straight, then, bind off 12 sts and finish to the end of row. Then, make detail due to the pattern design. Make decreases in the same way, as for back. Make the second half of front in reflection to the first half.
Assembly
Make shoulder, side and back collar seam. Fasten arm-holes, edges of front from point A to the bottom of work and also the bottom edge of back to point A with 1 row of single crochets and 1 row of kitchener’s stitch on RS.
This is a gorgeous vest but am sort of a beginner and would like to know how to make this in size: 2 X? Plus I have never heard of Kitchener's stitch.
Can anyone suggest what to do? Thank you, Ruth.
Dear Ruth,
I will try to find the instructions for larger size.
