Finish
You will now have a little cone. You now want to put all of the long yarn tails, except for the green one, through the tip of the cone. You can do this using a crochet hook or a yarn needle.
Take a string of black yarn that’s about 45cm long and embroider some seeds on the red part of the cone. You can put a little knot on the inside of the cone to make sure that the black yarn is attached. After this you’ll still have about 35cm of string left, that’s ok!
Now you can fold your cone so it looks like a little watermelon slice. The end of the green row should be on the side of the slice. Take the long green yarn tail, tuck all of the short yarn bits into the watermelon and sew the top of the watermelon shut. After this, pull the green yarn tail through the tip of the watermelon.
After this, you should have 4 long ends hanging from the tip of the watermelon slice. You can now braid these. I bundled the white and black string together so I’d have 3 bits to braid with. Once the braid is long enough to use as a bookmark, put a knot in the end and you’re finished!
