Crochet Tea Towel Magnet

Materials needed:
sportweight yarn
bedspread weight (size 10) cotton
Size D aluminum hook
Steel crochet hook size 1.65mm (size 7)
With sportweight yarn and D hook:
Ch 4. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. Ch1, turn.(3)
2-9: Sc across, ch1, turn.
10: 2sc in 1st st, sc in next, 2sc in last. Ch1, turn. (5)
11: 2sc in 1st st, sc in 3, 2sc in last. Ch1, turn. (7)
12: Sc across, ch1, turn.
13-14: 2sc in 1st st, sc to last, 2sc in last. Ch1, turn. (11 at end of 14)
15: Sc across. Ch1, turn.
16: In flps only: (sc, ch1) twice in each st across to last st. (sc, ch1, sc) in last st. FO.
With thread & 1.65mm hook: join thread in blp of first st. ch3, dc in same st. 2dc in each blp across. Ch 3, turn.(22dc)
2. (BPDC in next 2 sts, dc in next 2) across. Dc in top of beg ch 3.
3. Dc in next 2 sts. (FPDC in 2sts, dc in 2) across. Ch3, turn.
4-9: Repeat 2 & 3 three times more. FO.
Weave in ends carefully.
With thread, make fringe along bottom: cut 11 2" pieces of thread. Fold one piece in half. Insert hook through st of row 9, catch folded thread, pull through slightly. YO with tails of 2" piece, pull through loop and tighten. Repeat across bottom.
To finish: Fold top over toward front (front is side with ruffles), tack in place. Glue small button, or I used a pony bead to front as in picture.
