  • RED HEART Celebration: 1 ball each 9240 Lime/Silver A, 9740 Pink/Silver B and 9340 Aqua/ Silver C (Celebration is discontinued)
  • Susan Bates Crochet Hook: 5.5mm [US I-9]

Additional Supplies Needed:

1″ (2.5 cm) jingle bell ornaments: 2 each lime, pink and aqua, one, 3″ (7.6 cm) craft ring, 1″ (2.5 cm) 23 inches (58.4 cm) of wide grosgrain ribbon

Finished Door Hanger measures 7” (17.8 cm) wide x 22” (55.8) long
NOTE

Divide yarn skeins in half, and work with 2 strands held together unless otherwise stated.

Chain-3 at beginning of row or round counts as first dc unless otherwise stated.

HANGER

Center Strip

With C, holding 2 strands together, ch 10.

Row 1: (Right Side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 8 chs, turn.

Row 2: (Wrong Side): Ch 1, sc in first sc, [skip 1 sc, shell in next sc, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc] twice, turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, dc in first sc, sc in center dc of next shell, shell in next sc, sc in center dc of next shell, 2 dc in last sc, turn.

Row 4: Ch 1, sc in top of first dc, shell in next sc, sc in center dc of next shell, shell in next sc, sc in last dc (top of beginning ch-3), turn.
Rows 5–34: Repeat Rows 3 and 4.

Row 35: Slip st across to center dc of first shell, 5 dc in center sc, slip st in center dc of last shell. Fasten off.
Inside Border

Round 1: With Right Side facing, holding 2 strands A together, working in remaining loops of row 1, draw up loop in corner loop, ch 1, sc in same ch as beginning ch-1, sc in end of each row across to last sc, 2 sc around post of last sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in same sc, sc in next 2 slip sts and in next 2 dc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in center dc, sc in next 2 dc and in next 2 slip sts, (sc, ch 2, sc) in next corner sc, sc in endof each row across to last sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in corner ch, sc in each remaining ch across, (sc, ch 2) in same ch as beginning sc, join with slip st in first sc.
Round 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, working (sc, ch 2, sc) in each corner ch-2 space, join with slip st in first sc.

Round 3: Repeat Round 2. Fasten off.
Outside Border

Round 1: With Right Side facing, holding 2 strands B together, draw up loop in first sc to left of top right corner ch-2 space, ch 1, sc in same sc as beginning ch-1, [skip 1 sc, shell in next sc, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc] 3 times, 5 dc in corner ch-2 space, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc, repeat between [ ] 13 times, skip 1 sc, 5 dc in next corner ch-2 space, sc in next sc, repeat between [ ] twice, skip next sc, 5 dc in next corner ch-2 sp, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc, repeat between [ ] twice, 5 dc in next corner ch-2 sp, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc, repeat between [ ] 13 times, skip 1 sc, 5 dc in last corner ch-2 space, join with slip st in first sc.

FINISHING

– Using a 10” (25.4 cm) strand of C, follow color order show in photo and tie bells onto center strip at center shells on rows 3, 9, 15, 21, 27, and 33. Pull ends of yarn through hole attop, then tie in knot at top of bell. Pull ends to back. Knot at back of Hanger and weavein ends.
– With 2 strands B held together, work 38 sc around craft ring. Leaving 8” (20.3 cm) tail, fasten off. Using tail, sew ring to top back of hanger. Weave in ends.

– Tie ribbon in a bow around sc at top center of Round 1 of Inside Border. Trim ends to desired length.
