Poncho with Big Relief Pattern
You’ll need:
1200g of mélange green Silvana yarn (51% sheep wool, 49% polyacryl; 60m/100g);
Knitting needles 12;
Crochet hook 9.
Used Patterns
Basket pattern: the quantity of sts is even.
1st row: * slip 1 purl, 1 knit st, 1 yarn over, draw knit st and yarn over through the slipped st*; repeat from * to *;
2nd and 4th rows: purl;
3rd row: 1 knit st, slip 1 st as purl, 1 knit st, 1 yarn over, draw knit st and yarn over through the slipped st*; repeat from * to *, 1 knit st.
Repeat 1st-4th rows.
“Rosehip” pattern (8 sts): due to the scheme, on which both RS and WS rows are stated. Repeat 1st-4th rows.
Cable (16 sts): due to the scheme 2, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows due to the pattern. Repeat 1st-8th rows.
Stitches control: 10 sts x 10 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Cast on 70 sts and work in the following way: 1 selvage st, 8 sts of “rosehip” pattern, 16 sts of cable, 20 sts of basket pattern, 16 sts of cable, 8 sts of “rosehip” pattern, 1 selvage st. In 132 cm = 132 rows from the set-up row, bind off all the sts.
Assembly
Fold your work in the middle WS up. Connect set-up row and bound off together with the help of crochet hook for 45 cm. Leave the rest 21 cm open for the neck-hole. Fasten the neck-hole with 1 circle row of “shrimp stitch”. Make 56 tassels in 3 threads of yarn 25 cm long.
