Crochet Apple Tree Motif

I used:
Yarn: Bernat Mosaic, Medium 4. Colours: Budgie & Medusa.
Scrap pieces of red yarn (Medium 4).
4.5 mm hook
Round marker
Darning needle
Skill Level: Easy
Tree measures approximately 5 1/2 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches wide.
Using Budgie
Rnd 1:
Slip knot. Ch 2. 8 hdc in slip knot. (8hdc)
Rnd 2:
Hdc to join(mnr). Hdc in same st. 2 hdc in ea st around. (16hdc)
Rnd 3:
Ss to join. (mnr). *(dc,2hdc) all in next st, Ss in next st.* Repeat from * to * 6 times.
Ss in next st to join Medusa yarn.
Ch 10. Hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in next 5 chs, sc in next 2 ch's ss in same st as your colour change. Turn. Ss in next 3 sts(on trunk). Ch 3, Ss in same st as rnd marker in tree top. Ss in next st (in green part). Turn. Now working along trunk (back side will face you). Ss in next 2 sts, Ss in corner st, ss in next 2 sts, sc in next st, hdc in next st, dc in last st. Fasten Off
Using scrap red yarn and darning needle, randomly and carefully sew in little apples. Hide knots and ends to back side of tree.
