Crochet Christmas Tree

Create a festive holiday decoration by crafting a handmade Christmas tree using the art of crocheting. This unique and personalized touch will add warmth and charm to your home during the holiday season. Choose your favorite yarn colors to match your existing decor or opt for traditional green and red hues for a classic look. Crocheting a Christmas tree allows you to customize the size, shape, and design to perfectly fit your space and style preferences. You can embellish your tree with beads, sequins, or other decorations to make it truly one-of-a-kind. Whether you're a seasoned crocheter or a beginner looking for a fun project, creating a crochet Christmas tree is a delightful way to add a handmade touch to your holiday decor.

Materials;

It's easy, too! You work in the round (no joining and chaining action up in here!) so you get one seamless piece. I used a G hook and Red Heart Super Saver yarn.

It is EXTREMELY helpful to use a stitch marker when working in the round. Otherwise you tend to forget your stitch count and things get ugly and you lose all faith in humanity. I don't want to be responsible for that.

Top:
ROUND 1: In magic adjustable ring, ch 1. Sc 4. (Stitch marker goes in the first sc, not the ch. 4 sc)
ROUND 2: *2 sc in next stitch, sc in next stitch*. Repeat from * to * around. (6 sc)
ROUND 3: Repeat round 2. (9 sc)
ROUND 4: *2 sc, in next stitch, sc in next two stitches*. Repeat from * to * around. (12 sc)
ROUND 5: Repeat round 4. (16 sc)
ROUND 6: *2 sc in next stitch, sc in next three stitches*. Repeat from * to * around. (20 sc)
ROUND 7: Sc in each stitch around. (20 sc)
ROUND 8: Repeat round 7.
ROUND 9: *Sc dec in next two stitches*. Repeat from * to * around. (10 sc)

ROUND 10: Repeat round 9. (5 sc)

Middle:
ROUND 11: 2 sc in each stitch around. (10 sc)
ROUND 12: Repeat round 11. (20 sc)
ROUND 13: *2 sc in next stitch, sc in next stitch*. Repeat from * to * around. (30 sc)
ROUND 14: *2 sc in next stitch, sc in next two stitches*. Repeat from * to * around. (40 sc)
ROUND 15: Sc in each stitch around. (40 sc)
ROUND 16: Repeat round 15. (40 sc)
ROUND 17: *Sc dec in next two stitches*. Repeat from * to * around. (20 sc)
ROUND 18: Repeat round 17. (10 sc)

Bottom:
ROUND 19: 2 sc in each stitch around. (20 sc)
ROUND 20: Repeat round 19. (40 sc)
ROUND 21: *2 sc in next stitch, sc in next stitch*. Repeat from * to * around. (60 sc)
ROUND 22: *2 sc in next stitch, sc in next two stitches*. Repeat from * to * around. (90 sc)
Another crocheter came up with 80 sc for the round 22 stitch count instead of 90. Anyone else? I would sooo not be surprised if I miscounted :)
ROUND 23: *2 sc in next stitch, sc in next three stitches*. Repeat from * to * around. (100 sc)
ROUND 24: Sc in each stitch around. (100 sc)
ROUND 25: Repeat round 24. (100 sc)
ROUND 26: Repeat round 24. (100 sc)
ROUND 27: *Sc dec in next two stitches*. Repeat from * to * around. (50 sc)
ROUND 28: Repeat round 27. (25 sc)

Finish off. Weave in ends. Stuff with polyfill if desired. Add a little bling bling (but only if you want to).
