Whether you're a crochet enthusiast or someone who appreciates handmade craftsmanship, the Crochet Fruit Punch Tablet Sleeve is a must-have accessory that combines practicality with a burst of color and style.

Materials:

  • Variegated Sock Yarn (Yarn shown in the picture is “Sensations Truly Pattern” in the “1434” colorway, pattern uses less than one skein)
  • E (3.5 mm) Crochet Hook
  • Tapestry Needle

Sizing:

Tablet sleeve shown is 5.5 inches wide and 8 inches tall to fit my tablet. Be sure to measure your device for best fit. You can easily adjust sizing by working more or less rounds of the granny squares. The smaller squares are half the number of rounds of the larger squares, so be sure to make your squares with an even number of rounds.

Instructions:

Large Square (Make 2):

Chain 4, join into a ring with a slip stitch.

Round 1: Chain 4, work (3 dc into center of ring, chain 1) 3 times, then 2 dc into center of ring. Join to close with a slip stitch.

Round 2: To work the corner of round 2, first chain 4, then 2 dc in same space, then chain 1, then 3 dc in the same space. Chain 1, then work the next corner by working 3 dc in next space, chain 1, then 3 dc in same space, chain 1, repeat two more times to complete the round.

Round 3: Work the corner in the same manner as the previous round: chain 4, 2 dc in same space, chain 1, 3 dc in same space, chain 1. To work the sides, simply work 3 dc in the next space then chain 1…repeat until you reach a corner again.

Repeat round 3 for a total of 8 rounds (this will give the sleeve the size as shown above)

Small Square (Make 4):

Round 4: Repeat round 3 once more for a total of 4 rounds.

Finishing:

Weave in any ends. Seam the squares together as shown and seam up the left side, bottom, and right side, leaving the top open. Seam using the whip stitch or join by crocheting the pieces together using the slip stitch.

If desired, you can add a single crochet edge to the top and sides. Although not necessary, it added a bit of interest and made everything look nice and neat.
