Pull up loop from each of next 2sc, yo, pull through all loops on hook Base of ch. Work in first stitch

  • 4.00mm & 5.00mm Clover Crochet Hooks

GAUGE – 5sc & 6 rows measures approx 1 inch

Make 2 mitts the same.

Cuff – With 4.00mm hook ch15, work 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (14sc)

Next Row – Working in blo, (see abbrev) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn.

Rpt last row until 28 rows have been worked in all.

Fold work in half (from bottom to top) so that the short sides of both ends are lined up, using 5.00mm hook sl st along through both sides of work to make a round.

Continuing with 5.00mm hook from now on, turn your work on to the side so you are working in the row ends.

Row 1 – ch1, work 1sc in each of next 28 row ends to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (28sc)

Row 2 – (Eyelet Row) – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of next 2sc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to the first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (9, ch2 spaces)

Row 3 – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc and 2ch space to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (28sc)

Row 4 – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Row 5 – Rpt Row 4. Turn.

Row 6 – (Inc Row) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 11sc, 2sc in next sc, 1sc in next 2sc, 2sc in next sc, 1sc in each of next 12sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (30sc)

Row 7 – (Inc Row) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 11sc, 2sc in next sc, 1sc in each of next 4sc, 2sc in next sc, 1sc in each of next 12sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (32sc)

Using color 2, slip stitching and turning at the end of each row, work 10 more rows of sc on these 28sc. Fasten off. Turn.

Using color 1, slip stitching and turning at the end of each row work 2 more rows of sc. Turn.

Thumb – Rejoin color 2 to the first of the 12sc you skipped earlier, ch1, work 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 11sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Slip stitching and turning at the end of each row, work 8 more rows of 1sc in each sc on these 12sc. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in color 1, sl st and turning at the end of each row work 2 more rows in sc. Fasten off leaving enough yarn to gather top of thumb.

Chain Ties x 2 – Using 4.00mm hook and color 2, ch75. Fasten off.

Using color 2 make 4 pom-pom’s I used Clover Pom-Pom maker number 20

Finishing – Close small gap at base of thumb, gather top of thumb and top of mitt, weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim off. Turn through to right side, working from the center on the front of mitt, thread chain tie through eyelet holes around top of cuff, attach a pom-pom to each end and tie in a bow.
