​Relief Knit Jacket for Baby Girl

You'll need:

200g of yarn with at least 70% of cotton (350m/100g);

Knitting needles 3;

4 buttons;

Satin lace 7 mm.

Size: 2-3

Used Patterns

Garter stitch: all knit sts;

Stockinette stitch: in right-side rows - knit sts, in wrong-side rows - purls;

Relief pattern: the quantity of sts is multipled 6 + 3 sts. Make due to the scheme. In wrong-side rows - all purls, including yarn overs. Start the row with 1 selvedge st, pattern repeat, 2 sts after pattern. Repeat 1st-4th rows in height.

Back

Cast on 170 sts and make 6 rows with garter stitch. Turn to stockinette stitch and make 5 cm with this pattern. Decrease 84 sts in the last row. There are 86 sts left. Turn to relief pattern and make 14 cm with this pattern. Bind off 3 sts x 1, 2 sts x 2 from both sides in all even rows.

Continue knitting straight. At 12 cm of arm-hole bind off the central 16 sts for the arm-hole.

Finish each part separately. Decrease 5 sts x 1, 3 sts x 1 in all even rows from inner part for the neck-hole. At 16 cm of arm-hole, bind off the rest 20 sts for shoulder. Make the second part in reflection to the first one.

Front

Left Half

Cast on 86 sts and make 6 rows with garter stitch. Turn to stockinette stitch, paying attention, that the first 4 sts from the left side to the upper part are made with garter stitch. This is the placket. At 5 cm from the 1st row of stockinette stitch, decrease 42 sts. Don't make decreases on the sts of placket. Totaly, there are 44 sts in work. Then, cast on 5 sts from the left side for the placket. You should get 49 sts. Make relief pattern: repeat the pattern 6 times. Finish the row with 1 knit st, 1 purl, 2 knit sts, 1 selvedge st. Continue making the placket with garter stitch. At 14 cm from the frilling, make arm-hole - see the description of back. At 10 cm of arm-hole bind off 14 sts x 1, 3 sts x 1, 2 sts x 2, 1 st x 1 in all even rows from left side for the neck-hole. Bind off the rest 20 sts for shoulder.

Right Half

This part is made in reflection to the left one. The only difference - 4 button-holes. The distance between the first and last ends of placket - 1 cm.

Sleeve

Cast on 42 sts and make 6 rows with garter stitch. Then, stockinette stitch, for widening increase 1 st x 7 in the 8th rows from both sides. You should get 56 sts. At 19 cm from the lower placket, bind off 3 sts x 1, 2 sts x 1, 1 st x 7, 2 sts x 2, 3 sts x 1. Totaly, there are 14 sts on the knitting needles. Bind off the last sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams, sew the sleeves. Make side and sleeve seams. Lift 74 sts along the edge of neck-hole. Make 6 rows (1,5 cm) with garter stitch. Bind off the sts. Sew the buttons. Insert satin lace through the holes of relief pattern, make bows.
