​Crochet Strawberry Oven Cloth

You'll need:

25g of Nako Sirius yarn of red color (100% acryl, 610m/100g);

A little bit of YarnArt Baby of green color (100% acryl, 150m/50g);

Crochet hook 2,75mm;

Scissors;

Needle.

Special Stitches

Popcorn (corn stitch) - group of 5 double crochets, which are made from one base st and connect them in the following way: draw the last st through the 1st crochet.

Increase - (popcorn, 2 chain sts) twice in one arch.

Decrease - 3 double crochets in one arch, 2 double crochets in the second arch and draw the working yarn through the 1st crochet.

Instructions

Make 16 chain sts, circle them in a ring and crochet around due to the scheme.

Replace the first crochet with 3 chain sts;

Finish each row with slip st.

1st row: 8 elements of popcorn, skip 2 sts of the chain, 2 chain sts;

2nd row: slip st under the first arch and make Increase, make 1 element in the next 3 arches, then make Increase to end of row in each arch.

Make 9 rows this way, increasing 1 popcorn from each side in every row. You should get 24 elements.

10th-11th rows: without increases;

12th row: (Decrease, 10 elements of popcorn) twice.

Make 3 more rows this way, decreasing 2 elements in each row until you have 16.

Make fastening with the green yarn. 1 single crochet in the top of popcorn, 2 single crochets under the chain st. Make 20 chain sts for making central loop for hanging your oven cloth on, continue fastening the edges.

Then, connect both sides with single crochets, when you come to hanging loop, fasten 25 single crochets in the centre and continue connections.

Cut the yarn.

Connect the edges with crochets from bottom part, but with red yarn.

Leaves

Make 3 leaves.

Make 10 chain sts + 1 st increase.

1st row: 9 single crochets in the 2nd st from the crochet hook, 3 single crochets in the last st, 9 single crochets from the opposite side of chain;

Turn your work.

Then, make crochets through back half-sts.

2nd row: 1 chain st, 9 single crochets, 3 single crochets in 1 st, 9 single crochets;

Make 3rd, 4th and 5th rows in analogy with the 2nd row.

Sew the leaves to the strawberry.
