Simple Crochet Pattern

1st row: Beginning in the second chain from your hook, work one single crochet stitch and one double crochet stitch (both in the same stitch.  Skip the next chain, single crochet and double crochet in the next stitch. Repeat that all the way across: skip the next chain, then single and double crochet in the next stitch.  When you come to your final chain, single crochet in the final stitch. Chain one and turn your work;

2nd row: Into the first single crochet stitch work one single crochet and one double crochet stitch.  Skip the next double crochet.  Into the next single crochet, work one single crochet and one double crochet stitch.

Repeat 1st-2nd rows.

It looks like a nice stitch. I think that you start with an even no of chains (ie multiple of 2)

Love this full closed stitch pattern, I think it would be good for making pot holders, among other things of course.

I haven't crocheted in many years but plan to when I retire.  I thought I would get a few patterns together beforehand and am very surprised to find so many others interested.

Thank you for sharing!

Donnie

I just made some nice potholders using this pattern...suzette stitch.  They look great! I used bulky yarn and they are very thick.  thank you for posting this

Yes, the quantity of set-up chain can be any even number

Correction it it an odd number of stitches to start, multiple of 2 + 1. It is also called a suzette stitch I think.

I agree. It would make a nice stitch for an a cozy afghan. I'm going to log materials for a nice 60«x84».

Es hermoso ese punto, pero no sé tejer con instrucciones escritas, yo necesito ver el  patrón en gráfico o en tutorial.💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
