​Stripped Summer Dress

You’ll need:

300 (300) 350g of yarn (70% viscose, 30% silk; 125m/50g) in light-yellow color;

100 (100) 150g of the same yarn, but in white and grey colors (each);

Knitting needles 4.

Size: S (M) L.

Used Patterns

Rib: the quantity of sts is multiple 3 + 1 + 2 selvage sts. Start and finish every row with 1 selvage sts.

RS rows: * 1 knit st, 2 purls*; repeat from * to *, finish with 1 knit st.

WS rows: as sts face.

Relief pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 6 + 1 + 2 selvage sts. Work due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated. Make WS rows as they face, yarn overs as purls. Start with 1 selvage st, pattern repeat, finish with st after pattern repeat and 1 selvage st. Repeat 1^st-4^th rows.

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls.

Stripes order: * 12 light-yellow rows, 4 white rows, 8 grey rows, 20 light-yellow rows, 12 white rows, 8 grey rows*; repeat from * to *.

Marked decreases in RS row: from the right edge: 1 selvage st, knit2tog to the left; from the left edge: cross purl2tog before 1 selvage st.

Stitches control: 26,5 sts x 31,5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back

Cast on 81 (93) 105 sts with light-yellow yarn and make 1,5 cm with rib for placket. Continue work with relief pattern, following stripes order. In 75 cm = 236 rows (72,5 cm = 228 rows) 70 cm = 220 rows from placket, decrease 1 x 1 st for raglan chamfer from both sides, then, decrease 21 (25) 29 x 1 st in every 2^nd row and 4 x 1 st in every row. In 90 cm = 284 rows from placket, leave the rest 29 (33) 37 sts.

Front

Make in the same way, as back.

Side Detail

Make 2.

Cast on 15 sts with light-yellow yarn and make 1,5 cm with rib for placket. Continue work with relief pattern with yellow yarn. In 75 cm = 236 rows (72,5 cm = 228 rows) 70 cm = 220 rows form placket, make 2 sts out of central st for arm-holes, divide your work between these 2 sts and both sides of 8 sts, finish each side separately. In 90 cm = 284 rows from placket, leave sts.

Assembly

Sew side details between front and back, sew one half to raglan front chamfer, another half to raglan back chamfer. For self-belt, cast on the previously left 8 sts of the 1^st side detail, 29 (33) 37 sts of front, 8 sts of the 2^nd side detail and work on all 45 (49) 53 sts with stockinette stitch. In 2,5 cm, bind off all sts, fold the placket in half and sew from WS. Make a cord of 80 cm long with light-yellow yarn and insert in the front and back self-belt.
