You’ll need:

500 (550) 600g of light-blue Kappa yarn (97% cotton, 3% polyester; 125m/50g);

50g of the same yarn, but in sandy color;

Straight knitting needles 4,5 and 5;

Circular knitting needles 4,5.

Size: S (M) L.

Used Patterns

Cable pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 18 + 3 (15) 9 + 2 selvage sts. Work due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated. Make WS rows as sts face. Start with 1 selvage st and the last 0 (6) 12 sts of pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with the first 3 (9) 15 sts of pattern repeat and 1 selvage st. Make 1st-2nd rows x 12 times, 3rd-40th rows x once = 62 rows.

Garter stitch 1: knit sts;

Garter stitch 2: purls;

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls.

Relief pattern: the quantity of sts is even. Start and finish every row with 1 selvage st.

1st-2nd, 5th-6th rows: stockinette stitch;

3rd row: knit2tog;

4th row: * 1 knit st, 1 knit st, drawn from crossed thread*; repeat from * to *;

7th row: * slip 1 knit st, 1 knit st, draw it through the slipped st*; repeat from * to *.

Repeat 1st-8th rows.

Rib: 1 selvage st, * 2 knit sts, 2 purls*; repeat from * to *, 2 knit sts, 1 selvage st. Make sts in WS rows as they face.

Patterns order: 62 rows of cable pattern with light-blue yarn, 2 rows of garter stitch 1 and 2 rows of garter stitch 2 with sandy yarn, decrease 17 (19) 21 sts in the last row, make the rest sts with relief pattern and light-blue yarn = 96 (106) 116 rows.

Stitches control: cables pattern: 23,5 sts x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Relief pattern: 20 sts x 37 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Garter stitch 1 and 2: 20 sts x 35 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 113 (125) 137 sts with light-blue yarn and knitting needles 5 and work due to the patterns order. In 37 cm = 136 rows from the end of garter stitch 2, bind off the central 28 (30) 32 sts for neck-hole and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 3 x 1 st in every 2nd row from inwards. In 39 cm = 144 rows from the end of garter stitch 2, bind off the rest 31 (35) 39 sts of shoulder. Total height is 62 cm.

Front

Make in the same way, as back, but with deeper neck-hole. For this, in 29,5 cm = 110 rows from the end of garter stitch 2, bind off the central 22 (24) 26 sts and 1 x 2 sts, 2 x 1 st in every 2nd row, then, 2 x 1 st in every 4th row.

Sleeves

Cast on 56 (60) 64 sts with light-blue yarn and knitting needles 4,5 and make 13 cm of rib for placket. Then, work with garter stitch 1 and knitting needles 5. For chamfers, increase 11 x 1 st in every 10th rows from both sides, starting from placket, include the increased sts in garter stitch = 78 (82) 86 sts. In 33 cm = 116 rows from placket, make 1 cm = 2 rows of garter stitch 1 and garter stitch 2 with sandy yarn, then, bind off the sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. Cast on 106 (110) 114 sts along neck-hole with light-blue yarn and make 3 circle rows of purls. Then, bind off sts as knit sts. Sew sleeves to the upper 19,5 (20,5) 21,5 cm from side edges of front and back. Make side and sleeve seams.
