Knitting needles 2,5.
Note: work in 2 threads of yarn.
Size: XL-XXL.
Used Patterns
1 x 1 rib;
Brioche stitch: 1st row: 1 knit st, slip 1 purl with yarn over;
2nd row: make the slipped st together with yarn over as knit2tog, slip purl with yarn over.
Repeat 1st-2nd rows.
Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls.
Stitches control: 15 sts x 25 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Back
Cast on 100 sts and make 4 cm of 1 x 1 rib. Then, work with brioche stitch for 44 cm straight. Then, bind off 8 sts from both sides for arm-holes. After that, knit 22 cm straight, transfer the sts to the auxiliary needle and leave them.
Front
Make in the same way, as back to arm-hole. At 48 cm height from the beginning of arm-hole, bind off 10 sts from both sides. Then, knit straight for 12 cm, then, divide all the sts to 3 equal parts (24 sts for each part). Leave the central 10 sts on the auxiliary needle and knit each part separately, decrease 6 x 1 st in every RS row from inwards. Then, knit straight to 10 cm height of neck-hole. Bind off the rest sts of shoulder. Make the second half of neck-hole in symmetry.
Sleeves
Cast on 48 sts + 2 selvage sts and make 5 cm of 1 x 1 rib. Then, work with stockinette stitch, increase 1 st in every 3 sts in the 1st row. For sleeve chamfers, increase 1 st from both sides in every 5th row. At 39 cm height, bind off the sts.
Assembly
Make one shoulder seam. Cast on 100 sts along the neck-hole (slip the previously sts of front and back neck-hole), make collar with 1 x 1 cm for 20 cm. Make second shoulder seam, sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams.
Love the simple white sweater pattern.
Question about the yarn: There is no yarn weight mentioned. Just color and fibercontent and using 2 threads of yarn. Needle size indicates possible fingering or sport.
Would appreciate this as I would like to make this as pattern is apparently in my size range.
