​Pink Set of Hat and Bag

You’ll need:

300g for bag and 200g for hat of pink Mille yarn (50% merino wool, 50% acryl; 55m/50g);

Knitting needles 7;

Double-pointed knitting needles 6 and 7;

2 buttons.

Size

Head circumference: 52-56 cm.

Bag: 46 x 36 cm.

Used Patterns

Garter stitch: all knit sts;

2 x 2 rib;

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls, in circle row – knit sts;

Pattern with rhombs 1: the quantity of sts is multiple 10 + 1. Work due to the scheme 1, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows and yarn overs as purls. Repeat the sts of pattern, finish with st after pattern repeat. Make 1^st-22^nd rows x once;

Pattern with rhombs 2 (15 sts wide): due to the scheme 2, on which only odd rows are stated, make even rows as knit sts. Repeat 1^st-30^th rows x once.

Main pattern: 14 rows of stockinette stitch, 22 rows of pattern with rhombs 1, 8 rows of stockinette stitch = 44 rows.

Stitches control: stockinette stitch: 12 sts x 19 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Garter stitch: 12 knit sts x 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Hat

Cast on 60 sts with double-pointed knitting needles 6 and make 18 cm of rib, increase 24 sts in the last row = 84 sts. Then, turn to double-pointed knitting needles 7 and work with garter stitch. In 4 rows from rib, divide sts in the following way: *27 sts of stockinette stitch, 15 sts of pattern with rhombs 2*; repeat from * to * x once. After pattern with rhombs, work with stockinette stitch on all the sts and make decreases in the following way: place marker on every 6^th st, then, knit the previous and marked sts as knit2tog. Make these decreases in every 2^nd row x twice and in every row x twice. Make knit2tog in the next row, tighten the rest 7 sts with working yarn.

Bag

Cast on 47 sts with knitting needles 7 and work with garter stitch, increase 5 x 1 st in every 10^th row from both sides for side chamfers. In 10 cm from the set-up row, make 44 rows of the main pattern. Then, make bottom part with garter stitch, decrease 1 st from both sides and 4 x 1 st in every 2^nd row = 47 sts. In 36 cm from the set-up row (= 10 rows of garter stitch) the middle is reached, then, knit in symmetry. In 72 m from the set-up row, bind off all the sts. Makesideseams. Sewbuttons. For handles, make 2 cords of 12 threads 52 cm long, leave 8 cm on the end of tassel and sew them to the bag.
