​Knit Top with Cable in the Center

You’ll need:

250 (300)g of 100% cotton yarn Amina of mint grey color (105m/50g);

Knitting needles 4;

Crochet hook 3,5.

Size: S (M).

Used Patterns

Rib: the quantity of sts is multiple 4 + 2 selvedge sts. 1 selvedge st, *1 knit st, 2 purls, 1 knit st*; repeat from * to *, 1 selvedge st. Make WS rows due to the ornament.

Garter stitch: all knit sts;

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls;

Relief stripe of 28 sts: work due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows due to the ornament, yarn overs – as purls. Repeat 1^st-10^th rows.

Special decreases: from the right side: 1 selvedge st, 2 knit sts, broaching (= slip 1 knit st, 1 knit st, draw it thorugh the slipped st), from the left side: knit the 5^th and 4^th sts from the end together, 2 knit sts, 1 selvedge st.

Stitches control: 19 sts x 27,5 rows = 10 х 10 cm.

Back

Cast on 86 (94) sts and make 2 cm with rib for the placket and 0,5 cm = 2 rows with garter stitch. Then, work with stockinette stitch. At the same time, bind off 7 x 1 st in every 4^th row from both sides = 72 (80) sts. In 14 cm = 38 rows from placket, increase 1 st from both sides and 6 x 1 st of stockinette stitch in every 8^th row = 86 (94) sts. In 37 cm = 102 rows from the placket, bind off 5 sts from both sides for arm-holes, 2 x 2 sts in every 2^nd row and 3 x 1^st with special decreases, then, 2 x 1 st in every 4^th row = 58 (66) sts. In 54,5 cm = 150 rows from the placket, bind off the central 10 (14) sts for the neck-hole and finish both parts separately. For smooth rounding, decrease 4 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts and 1 x 1 st with special decreases from inwards, make 2 or 3 broachings, while decreasing 2 or 3 sts or knit2tog (knit3tog). In 59,5 cm = 164 rows from the placket, bind off the rest 9 (11) sts of shoulder from both sides.

Front

Make in the same way, as back, but after placket, work due to the following description: 1 selvedge st, 28 (32) sts of stockinette stitch, 28 sts of relief stripe, 28 (32) sts of stockinette stitch, 1 selvedge st. In 36,5 cm = 100 rows from the placket, make 28 sts of relief stripe and 2 rows of garter stitch on the central sts. In 37 cm = 102 rows from the placket, bind off the central 28 sts for neck-hole and decrease 3 (5) x 1 st in every 4^th row, 2 x 1 st in every 6^th row and 1 x 1 st in every 8^th row with special decreases.

Assembly

Make shoulder and side seams. Fasten the neck-hole and arm-holes with 1 circle row of “shrimp stitch”.
