You’ll need:
6 balls of RED HEART® Chunky in 4360 Cocoa color;
Knitting needles 6 mm;
Yarn needle;
Crochet hook.
Stitches control: 14 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Size: 39 x 213 cm.
Pocket size: 15 x 20 cm.
Note
Patch pockets are sewn on after scarf is made.
Instructions
Garter Band
Row 1 (Right Side): Knit.
Row 2 (Wrong Side): Purl.
Rows 3-10: Repeat Rows 1-2.
Row 11 (Right Side): Purl.
Row 12 (Wrong Side): Knit.
Rows 13-14: Repeat Rows 11-12.
Repeat Rows 1-14 Garter Band.
Scarf
Cast on 53 sts.
Row 1 (Right Side): Purl.
Row 2 (Wrong Side): Knit.
Row 3 (Right Side): Purl.
Row 4 (Wrong Side): Knit.
Beginning with Row 1 of Garter Band Pattern, repeat Rows 1-14 for 213 cm, ending on Row 14.
Next Row: Bind off all sts.
Pockets
(make 2)
Cast on 23 sts.
Row 1 (Right Side): Knit.
Row 2 (Wrong Side): Purl.
Repeat Rows 1-2 for 20 cm.
Next row: Bind off all sts.
Finishing
Attach Pockets to Scarf
With right sides of pockets face up, place pockets on right side of the scarf.
Measure 28 cm up from bottom edge of scarf and 12 cm in from each side edge, centering the pockets. Using yarn and yarn needle, stitch pockets to scarf.
Fringe
Cut sixty 41 cm long strands of yarn. Holding 2 strands of yarn together for each fringe, use a crochet hook to evenly space each piece of fringe 3 cm apart along cast on edge and bound off edge of scarf—15 fringe on each end of scarf.
Trim fringe.
With yarn needle, weave in all loose ends.
