You’ll need:
1 skein of Caron Cotton Cakes or any medium #4 yarn;
Crochet hook 5 mm;
Scissors;
Tapestry needle;
2 elastic hair bands.
Instructions
1st row: slip st on to elastic hair band, ch 2, work 30 dc around. Join (30);
2nd row: ch 2, * dc in 1 st, 2 dc in next st*; repeat around. Join (45);
3rd row: ch 2, * dc in 2 sts, 2 dc in next st*; repeat around. Join (60);
4th row: ch 2, dc in BLO around . Join (60);
5th-6th rows: ch 2, dc around. Join (60);
7th row: ch 2, * dc in 2 sts, ch 2, skip 2 sts*; repeat around. Join and turn;
8th-20th rows: ch 2, * 2 dc in ch-2 space. Ch 2, skip 2 sts*; repeat around. Join and turn;
21st row: ch 2, *2 dc in ch-2 space. Dc in each of next 2 sts*; repeat around. Join (60);
22nd-23rd rows: ch 2, dc in each st around. Chain 30 to hang and join to top of 1st dc. Turn and slip st in each st back across the chain 30. Slip st to the same join. Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing too on.
Top
1st row: ch 2, work 30 dc around elastic hair band. Join (30);
2nd row: ch 2, *dc in 1 st, 2 dc in next st*; repeat around. Join (45);
3rd row: ch 2, * dc in 2 sts, 2 dc in next st*; repeat around. Join (60) finish off.
Weave in end.
Turn body of bag inside out. Turn top upside down. Sew top on to 23rd row by using the whip st and tail of yarn. Go through front loop only of 23rd row and both loops of top, making sure to leave the chain hook on inside. Sew all the way around. Weave in ends when finished. Turn back right side out.
