Crochet Summer Dress for a Girl
You'll need:
100 (100) 150g of 100% cotton yarn (140m/50g) of yellow color;
100 (100) 150g of 100% cotton yarn (140m/50g) of blue color;
Knitting needles 3,5;
Crochet hook 3;
2 blue buttons.
Size
2-3 years: height 92-98сm, chest circumferenece = 56-58сm, waist line =56-57сm, hip circumference =60-62сm;
4-5 years: height 104-110 сm, chest circumferenece = 60-62сm, waist line =58-59сm, hip circumference =64-66сm;
6-7 years: height 116-122сm, chest circumferenece = 64-66сm, waist line =60-61сm, hip circumference =68-70сm.
Used Patterns
Wavy pattern - knit due to the scheme;
Garter stitch: all knit sts;
Single crochet - start each row with 1 chain st increase insread of 1 single crochet.
As the dress is two-colored, pay attention to the color rotation: garter stitch (4 rows) - with blue yarn, wavy pattern (8 rows) - with yellow yarn.
Stitches Control
Wavy pattern: 22 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
Single crochet: 22 sts = 10 cm.
Instructions
Front
Start making dress from front part. Cast on 92 (110) 128 sts with blue yarn and knit with wavy pattern due to the scheme, 2 edging sts from each side are selvedge sts. After knitting 28 (32) 36 cm, turn to gartert stitch. Yoke of the dress is made with blue yarn. After making the needed size, bind off the sts. You can change garter stitch with knitting needles to single crochet with crochet hook. For this, make 53 (62) 71 single crochets for the 1st row of yoke and crochet 4 (5) 6 cm.
Back
Make in the same way, as front.
Straps
You can make these 2 details either with knitting needles or crochet hook. For this, cast on 10 sts and knit 30 (34) 38 cm. Make a button-hole for the button: bind off 2 central sts and cast on the missing sts above them in the next row. After knitting 2 cm, bind off the sts. If you want to make the straps with crochet hook, make 6 chain sts + 1 chain st increase instead of 1 single crochet and crochet 32 (36) 40 cm with single crochet. Make hole for the button: 2 chain sts.
Assembly
Vapor all the details, fix them on the pattern desing and dry. Make side seams. Sew the straps, stepping 4 (5) 6 cm from side seams. Vapor all the seams. Sew the buttons.
