Actually my active days are pretty much over also. I wear a fentanyl patch and take way too many pills but that keeps me going at least. My accident basically broke everything in me from the hips up. I'm a modern day Bionic Woman internally. LOL I have bad days also, that's where crocheting comes in to play. It sucks when age creeps up on you but it's even worse when other things help push you even further into it
I'm sorry to hear that your Mobility is leaving you… Believe me, I feel your pain! I need to get off of here and get a few things done while I still have sunshine. It was very nice to meet you and we will probably talk soon. Thank you for being so nice and welcoming.
That sounds awesome! Too bad you're a couple states away. I could help you with the construction and then veg out with you in your playroom. LOL my dad was a contractor and that's why I know how to build things.
I'm pushing 70, have two boys and two girls and nine grandbabies. As far as animals go, I think it would be easier to name the ones I don't have. Haha My 3 Aussies are my favorite babies. my husband runs 2 Dollar General stores and I had to go into a forced retirement due to a car crash. I used to run a motel and do the CPA work on 10 other ones. I also coached gymnastics on certain days and the weekends. Now I'm a homemaker and craft freaks. I also like to build things with wood. In fact I built a fort for the grandkids above the swing set a few years ago. It's fun to start with nothing and end up with something beautiful or amazing. That's why crocheting is so much fun for me.
When my two 8-year-olds are here, I let them have my iPad but then the rest of the time is for Grandma. I take it to bed with me and crochet until I get tired. I'm guilty of having very late nights. I always say, I'll do one more round and then quit. Yeah right!
I know how it is with being so far away. My husband has a step sister and mother in NC and he just sold his land too. His cousins all live in Wilmington by Carolina Beach. I'm lucky because my four kids are all in town or within a 50 mile radius. 6-boy & 3-girl granbabies. From 4-15 yrs. In the summer they pull their campers into the backyard and we have so much fun. I have six acres so that makes it easy. where are you located now?
Yeah my phone likes to spell next as «sex» and it's gotten me into if you long conversations. lol I did a throw blanket for my daughter-in-law that was strips of cables. They were worked the Normal way though with the skip a stitch and backtrack method. I like doing projects with difficult patterns. It keeps me from getting bored. I just finished two sweaters for my daughter's who have birthdays in January. I have a whole room dedicated to fabric and yarn. I'm kind of a junkie. Haha
What part of North Carolina? My guy is from the Lexington area. My grandson that is in the picture with me what was this the last time we flew in. He loved all the trees and paths through my husband's land. It's definitely beautiful there but I can live without the extra snakes and bugs. Nebraska has a few copperheads but North Carolina differently has the market on snakes! LOL
Yeah I didn't understand a word she was saying but like they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. LOL the comments were all in a different language also so I just gave it a thumbs up and called it good. 👍
try getting on YouTube. There are a bunch of really cute patterns that you can find and follow along with the video. The more difficult stitches are easier when you see one done for you. I always set the video playback to a slower speed and then just follow along. I made a couple really cute outfits this way.

I love the top headband. Do you have the pattern or did you just make it yourself?
That is so cute! My fiance is from North Carolina and he relocated to Nebraska for me. he always teases me that I'm a Yankee.
I keep trying but it won't show up on my post.
