Crochet rug in the bathroom
Good day!
I made a new rug to my bathroom, look at it. If you want a pattern, just let me know.
Thank you
Thank you!
I used this yarn:
*4 Balls Bernat Maker Home Dec (30″x20″) Shown in Cream
*11.5mm crochet hook
* Threading Needle for Bulky yarn
* Measuring Tape
* Scissors
Use 2 strands of yarn held together (work from 2 balls at once)
Now lets make a swatch to check GAUGE using Single Crochet (SC) and the Loop Stitch (LS)
SWATCH
Row 1: Chain 15, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and each chain across, turn. (14)
Row 2: Ch 1, 1 lp in each st across, turn. (14)
Row 3: Ch1, 1 sc in each st across, turn. (14)
Repeat Row 2 and 3 until you have 9-10 rows
Gauge you can find in the picture below.
Row 1: Chain 55, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and each chain across, turn. (54)
Row 2: Ch 1, 1 lp in each st across, turn. (54)
Row 3: Ch1, 1 sc in each st across, turn. (54)
Repeat Row 2 and 3 until you have 45 rows
You can keep a loop stitch look or cut all the loops for a ‘shag’ look. When cutting the loops give them a good tug and go row by row so as not to miss any!
It’s a pretty scary thing to cut your crochet project so I was quick to throw it in the wash and see how it would come out before posting this design!
The Results:
The yarn came out great but some of our shag poked through the wrong side. I just went through the mat and pulled all my shag bits back giving them all a good tug. Therefore if you choose to throw in the wash this mat will require some work to keep it looking its best. Otherwise you could try hand washing. I would not recommend putting this mat in the dryer.
