Two Variants of Crochet Case for Glasses
You’ll need:
About 50 yards of Worsted Weight (4) Cotton;
Crochet hook 4 mm.
Size: 4.5" x 6.25".
Instructions
Vertical Case
Starting Chain= 22
1st row: sc in second ch from hook. (dec3, sc 2, inc, sc 2)x2, dec3, sc 1, turn;
2nd row: in back loop only: ch 1, sc 1, dec2, sc 2, inc, sc 2, dec3, sc 2, inc, sc 2, dec2, sc 1, turn;
3rd-40th rows: repeat row 2, alternating back loop only with both loops every row to make a ribbing effect.
Horizontal Case
Starting chain = 30
1st row: sc in second ch from hook. (dec3, sc 2, inc, sc 2)x3, dec3, sc 1, turn;
2nd row: in back loop only: ch 1, sc 1, dec2, (sc 2, inc, sc 2, dec3)x2, sc 2, inc, sc 2, dec2, sc 1, turn;
3rd-22nd rows: repeat row 2, alternating back loop only and both loops every row to make a ribbing effect.
Assembly
Fold over one side about 2/3 of the way. Make sure the ribbing faces outwards. Either edge can be the top flap, choose based on preference (starting row or ending row).
Slip stitch yarn through both flaps of piece where the fold starts.
Sc through both pieces, 1 sc per chevron row.
Continue to crochet around top flap.
When you come to the other side, repeat step 3. Slip stitch closed at opposite corner.
