​Melange Knit Wrap with Cables

You’ll need:

800g of mélange blue-green Harmony yarn (75% polyacryl, 25% wool; 35m/50g);

Straight knitting needles 12 and 15;

Circular knitting needles 12;

3 buttons.

Size: 40 x 164 cm.

Used Patterns

1 x 1 rib.

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls.

Wrong-side pattern: in RS row – purls, in WS row – knit sts.

Main pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 6. Work due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated. Make WS rows sts as purls. Start with sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat.

Repeat 1st-12th rows.

Stitches control: 11 sts x 12 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Cast on 33 sts with knitting needles 12 and make 8 cm of rib for placket, increase 1 st in the last row = 34 sts. Then, change to knitting needles 15 and work in the following way: 1 selvage st, 1 st of stockinette stitch, 1 st of wrong-side pattern, 28 sts of pattern with cables, 1 st of wrong-side pattern, 1 st of stockinette stitch, 1 selvage st. In 74 cm from placket, the center will be reached. Finish detail in symmetry from this point.

For collar and placket, cast on 117 sts along left side with knitting needles 12 and work with rib. In 10 rows from the beginning of placket, make 3 button-holes. In 12 rows from the beginning of placket, work for collar with shorten rows in the following way: 117 sts, turn with yarn over, knit 17 sts back, turn with yarn over, knit 20 sts, make yarn over tog with the next st as purl, turn with yarn over, knit 30 sts, turn with yarn over, knit 34 sts back, turn with yarn over, knit 38 sts, turn with yarn over back 42 sts, turn with yarn over back 52 sts. Make the second half of collar and placket in the same way. Sew buttons.
