You’ll need:

3 (4, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8) balls of King Cole Bamboo Cotton Dk (50% cotton, 50% bamboo; 230m/100g);

Crochet hook 5 mm;

Yarn needle;

Scissors.

Size: XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL).

Stitches control: 2 pattern repeats x 7.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm

Instructions

Back

Chain 76 (85, 94, 103, 112, 121, 130, 139, 148).

Row 1: starting in 4th ch from hook (counts as first dc), 2 dc, * miss next 2 ch, 1 dc in next ch, 1 ch, miss 1 ch, 1 dc in next ch, 1 ch, miss 3 ch**, (2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc) in next ch*; repeat pattern from * to * ending the last repeat at **; 3 dc in last ch, turn.

Row 2: 3 ch (counts as first dc here and throughout), 2 dc in same st at the bottom of 3 ch, * 1 dc in next 1 ch-sp, 1 ch, miss next dc, 1 dc in next 1 ch-sp, 1 ch, miss next dc**, (2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc) in next 1 ch-sp; repeat pattern from * to * ending last repeat at **; 3 dc into top of beginning 3 ch, turn.

Repeat Row 2 for pattern another 28 times or until you reach desired length of the garment from underarms. Do not fasten off, continue pattern with Sleeve Rows.


Sleeves

Chain 30 (30, 30, 30, 39, 39, 39, 39, 39) and work over the foundation chain just created.

Row 31: starting in 4th ch from hook (counts as first dc), * 2 dc, miss next 2 ch, 1 dc in next, 1 ch, miss 1 ch, 1 dc in next, 1 ch, miss 3 ch**, (2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc) in next ch*; repeat pattern from * to * 3 (3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4) times ending the last repeat at **; (2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc) in next dc, miss next 2 dc, 1 dc in next 1 ch-sp, 1 ch, miss next dc, 1 dc in next 1 ch-sp, 1 ch, miss next dc**, (2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc) in next 1 ch-sp; repeat pattern from * to * across ending last repeat at **; miss next 2 dc, (2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc) in top of beginning 3 ch. Do not turn. Attach the saved piece of yarn into top of beginning 3 ch from Row 30 (the stitch you just worked into) and chain 27 (27, 27, 27, 36, 36, 36, 36, 36). Fasten off. Repeat Row 32 another 11 (12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20) times or until you reach desired depth of the armhole. Fasten off.


Front

Repeat pattern as for BACK until the last row.

Sizes XS, M, 2XL, 3XL, 5XL only

Left Neckline Row: 3 ch, 2 dc in first st, * 1 dc in next 1 ch-sp, 1 ch, miss next dc, 1 dc in next 1 ch-sp, 1 ch, miss next dc, (2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc) in next 1 ch-sp; repeat pattern from * to * 4 (5, 7, 7, 8) times, 1 dc in next 1 ch-sp. Fasten off.

Miss the following 4 (4, 5, 6, 6) pattern repeats and next (1 ch-sp, 1 dc, 1 ch-sp), join yarn in next dc.

Right Neckline Row: 3 ch (counts as 1 dc), (2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc) in next 1 ch-sp, * 1 dc in next 1 ch-sp, 1 ch, miss next dc, 1 dc in next 1 ch-sp, 1 ch, miss next dc**, (2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc) in next 1 ch-sp; repeat pattern from * to * ending last repeat at **; 3 dc into top of beginning 3 ch. Fasten off.

Sizes S, L, XL, 4XL only

Miss the following dc, (2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc) and next 5 (5, 6, 7) pattern repeats, join yarn in first 1 ch-sp after the last missed pattern repeat.

Right Neckline Row: 4 ch (counts as 1 dc + 1 ch-sp), miss next dc, 1 dc in next 1 ch-sp, 1 ch, miss next dc, (2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc) in next 1 ch-sp; * 1 dc in next 1 ch-sp, 1 ch, miss next dc, 1 dc in next 1 ch-sp, 1 ch, miss next dc**, (2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc) in next 1 ch-sp; repeat pattern from * to * ending last repeat at **; 3 dc into top of beginning 3 ch. Fasten off.

Line up the Front and Back panels and sew up at shoulder seams. Sew up the underside of the sleeve and the sides.


Neckline

Join yarn in first stitch of the neckline opening on the back.

Rnd 1-2: 1 ch (doesn’t count as a st), sc around. Fasten off.

Sew in all ends and block to dimensions.

your directions contain “‘miss”.  It that the same meaning as “skip”?

If not, can I have a lesson in how to use the term?
