Violet Knit Pullover
You’ll need:
600g of violet Mondial Polaris yarn (70% merino wool, 30% acryl; 100m/50g);
Straight knitting needles 4,5 and 5;
8 buttons;
Tapestry needle.
Size: S.
Used Patterns
Double rib: cast on the half of the needed sts with contrast yarn;
1st row: working yarn * 1 knit st, 1 yarn over*; repeat from * to *;
2nd row: * yarn over as knit st, slip 1 st as purl without knitting it, yarn in front of work*; repeat from * to *;
3rd and all the following rows: * 1 knit st, slip 1 purl, yarn in front of work; repeat from * to *, take off the contrast yarn.
2 x 1 rib: *2 knit sts, 1 purl*.
Pattern of cables: the quantity of sts is multiple 8:
1st, 3rd, 7th, 9th, 11th and 13th rows: * 1 purl, 6 knit sts, 1 purl*; repeat from * to *;
2nd and all the even rows: purl;
5th row: * 1 purl, cross 6 sts to the right (leave 3 sts on the auxiliary needle behind work, 3 knit sts, 3 knit sts from the auxiliary needle), 1 purl*; repeat from * to *;
15th row: repeat the pattern from the 5th row.
Stitches control: pattern of cables: 22 sts x 27 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Front and Yoke of Back
Make as one-piece cloth, start with left front. Cast on 72 sts with knitting needles 4,5 and make 6 rows of double rib. Change to knitting needles 5 and make 5 edge sts with double rib, the rest sts – with pattern of cables. Make shorten rows in the following way:
9th row: knit 28 sts, turn, knit 28 sts;
11th row: knit 46 sts, turn, knit 46 sts;
13th row: knit 60 sts, turn, knit 60 sts;
15th row: knit 72 sts, turn, knit 72 sts.
Repeat shorten rows in every 20 rows. At 170 cm height, make 4 rows of double rib and bind off the sts with kitchener stitch.
Back
Cast on 79 sts with knitting needles 4,5 and make 6 rows of double rib. Change to knitting needles 5 and work with 2 x 1 rib, make 3 edge sts from both sides with double rib. At 30 cm height, bind off all the sts.
Sleeves
Cast on 43 sts with knitting needles 4,5 and make 6 rows of double rib. Change to knitting needles 5 and work with 2 x 1 rib, increase 14 x 1 st in every 6th row from both sides. In 42 cm, bind off 1 x 4 sts from both sides, then, decrease 3 x 1 st in every 2nd row. In 44 cm, bind off the rest sts.
Assembly
Sew upper edge of back to the central part of stripe, made of pattern of cables. Sew up the sleeves and make the seams. Cross both loose edges of stripe of cables and sew the edges to the sides of back. Sew 4 buttons along the side seams to the stripe of cables.
