You’ll need:

800g of blue Cotton Merino yarn (52% merino wool, 48% cotton; 100m/50g);

Knitting needles 4;

Circular knitting needles 4;

22 metal buttons.

Size: S-M.

Used Patterns

Big pearled pattern: 1 knit st, 1 purl, replacing the pattern to 1 st after every 2nd row;

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls, in circle rows – knit sts;

Placket: cast on sts from RS, make 3 circle rows of stockinette stitch and leave the sts. Cast on sts from WS and knit in the same way. Make 1 st from every knitting needles together in the next circle row after pattern repeat;

Pattern with rhombs: due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows due to the pattern. Start with 1 selvage st, pattern repeat, finish with st after pattern repeat and 1 selvage st. Repeat 1st-28th rows.

Stitches control: pattern with rhombs: 22 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 111 sts and make 10 cm of big pearled pattern for placket. Then, work with pattern with rhombs. In 36 cm from placket, bind off 5 sts from both sides for arm-holes and 1 x 4 sts, 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 1 st in every 2nd row. In 17 cm from the beginning of arm-hole, bind off the central 19 sts for the neck-hole and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 2 x 3 sts in every 2nd row from inwards. At the same time, bind off 11 sts from both sides for shoulder chamfers and 2 x 8 sts in every 2nd row. In 19 cm from the beginning of arm-hole, bind off all the sts.

Right Front

Cast on 70 sts and make 10 cm with big pearled pattern for placket. Then, divide the sts in the following way: 1 selvage st, 22 sts of big pearled pattern, 46 sts of pattern with rhombs, starting from arrow A, 1 selvage st. In 10 cm from the set-up row, make button-holes on the 5th, 7th, 15th and 17th sts of placket, make such button-holes in every 5 cm for 5 times. Make arm-hole and shoulder chamfer from the left side in the same way, as back. In 45 cm from the placket, bind off 22 sts from the right side for neck-hole and 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts, 3 x 1 st in every 2nd row. In 55 cm from the placket, bind off all the sts.

Left Front

Make in symmetry to the right.

Sleeves

Cast on 48 sts and make 10 cm of big pearled pattern for the placket. Then, work with pattern with rhombs, divide the sts to the center. Increase 13 x 1 st in every 8th row from both sides, starting from the set-up row for sleeve chamfers. In 32 cm from the placket, bind off 5 sts for sleeve caps from both sides and 1 x 4 sts, 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts, 1 x 3 sts and 1 x 4 sts in every 2nd row. In 13 cm from the beginning of sleeve caps, bind off the rest sts.

Plackets for Buttons

Make 2.

Cast on 11 sts and make 20 cm with big pearled pattern and bind off the sts.

Pockets

Make 2.

Cast on 29 sts and work with pattern with rhombs, starting from arrow A. In 14 cm from the set-up row, work with big pearled pattern, make button-hole in 2 cm on the central 3 sts. In 18 cm from the set-up row, bind off the sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams; for collar, cast on 98 sts along the neck-hole with circular knitting needles and make placket. Then, make 8 cm with big pearled pattern and bind off the sts. Sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams. Sew the plackets for buttons to the sleeves. Sew pockets. Sew buttons.
