The quantity of sts is multiple 20 + 2 selvage sts.
In RS row: slip the first selvage st without knitting, make the last selvage st as knit st.
In WS row: slip the first selvage st without knitting, make the last selvage st as purl.
1st row: purl;
2nd row: 1 selvage st, * yarn over, knit2tog through front loop, yarn over, knit2tog from the LH needle*, 1 selvage st;
3rd row: 1 selvage st, pur2tog, 1 selvage st.
Repeat 2nd-3rd rows.
So unique and fun to look at. I never understood «selvage» stitch. Thank you for such a clear explanation. Can't wait to do a project in this.
