Baby Knit Romper
You’ll need:
200g of yarn (15% wool, 35% Angora, 50% acryl; 303m/100g) in light-blue color;
20g of yarn (50% wool, 50% acryl; 250m/100g) in white color;
Knitting needles 4;
Crochet hook 3,5;
2 buttons.
Size: 8-10 months.
Stitches control: 20 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Note: work with 2 threads of yarn with light-blue yarn and with 1 thread of white yarn.
Instructions
Left Half of Pants
Cast on 56 sts with light-blue yarn and make 3 cm of 2 x 2 rib. Then, work with stockinette stitch. Make 2 rows with white yarn, then, turn to the light-blue yarn and make 38 rows of stockinette stitch, increase 6 x 1 st from both sides. At 15 cm height from rib, decrease 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts, 1 x 1 st. Leave the left half on the knitting needles.
Right Half of Pants
Make in the same way, as left half. Then, put both halves on one knitting needles and connect them by knitting 1 selvedge st of the left half and 1 selvedge st of the right half together as knit st, then, work with stockinette stitch. In 38 cm from the set-up row, work in the following way: 2 rows of stockinette stitch with white yarn, 2 rows with light-blue yarn, 2 rows with white yarn. Then, work with rib: 6 rows with light-blue yarn, 2 rows with white yarn, 16 rows with light-blue yarn. In 44 cm from the set-up row, bind off 69 sts, leave the central 44 sts for the chest part. In 49 cm from the beginning of work, bind off all the sts.
Assembly
Make inseam and connecting seam on back. For the straps in back part of romper, cast on 8 sts and work in the following way: 1 selvedge st, 2 knit sts, 2 purls, 2 knit sts, 1 selvedge st for 24 cm. In 22 cm from the beginning of work, make button-holes. Fasten the straps with 1 row of double crochets by means of the crochet hook. Sew the buttons.
