Knit Blouse with Stars

You’ll need:

350 (400)g of blue-green Lana Grossa Cashsilk yarn (40% polyamide, 30% bamboo, 15% cashmere, 15% silk; 75m/50g);

Straight knitting needles 8 and 9;

Circle knitting needles 8 (40 and 60 cm long).

Size: S (M).

Used Patterns

1 x 1 rib;

Wrong-side pattern: in RS row – purls, in WS row – knit sts;

Pattern with stars, wrong-side and marked decreases: due to the scheme A and B (C and D). RS rows are stated with numbers from right side. Make WS rows due to the ornament and replace on 1 st the sts of WS to the pattern with stars. Always replace the sts on 2 sts.

Make decreases for arm-holes and neck-hole due to the scheme. Make all the sts, stated on the scheme in width. In height, make 1st-68th rows x once due to the schemes A and B, then, repeat 67th and 68th rows (1st-74th rows x once due to the schemes C and D, then, repeat 73rd and 74th rows).

Stitches control:

Pattern with stars, knitting needles 9: 13,5 sts x 15,5 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Wrong-side pattern, knitting needles 9: 12 sts x 16 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 67 (73) sts with knitting needles 8 and make 3 cm = 5 rows with rib for the placket, start with 1 WS row. Then, work due to the scheme A (C). In 22 (24,5) cm = 34 (38) rows from the placket, bind off 8 sts from the placket from both sides for arm-holes = 51 (57) sts. In 22 (23,5) cm = 36 (38) rows from the beginning of arm-holes, bind off 5 (6) sts from the beginning of arm-holes from both sides for shoulder chamfers, then 2 x 5 (6) sts in every 2nd row. In the next row, bind off the rest 21 sts for neck-hole.

Front

Make in the same way, as back, but with V-shape neck-hole. For this, in the 43rd (49th) row, leave the slipped st in the center and finish both parts separately. For chamfer, bind off 1 x 1 st, 4x 2 sts, 1 x 1 st in every 2nd row from inwards, as it’s shown on the scheme, before and after selvedge st. Make shoulder chamfer at the height of back.

Assembly

Make seams. Cast on 87 sts to the previously left st along the neck-hole with long circle knitting needles = 88 sts and work with circle rows for the placket, continue making the slipped st and slip this middle st together with the previous st as knit st in every circle row, next st – knit st, draw it through the slipped sts. At 2,5 heigt of placket = 5th circle row, bind off the sts as knit sts, making knit2tog. Cast on 70 sts along arm-holes with short circle knitting needles and make plackets, as for neck-hole.
