Starting the Base:

Use a 4 mm hook and two strands of 5-ply milk cotton yarn.

Start from any hole of the round back bottom and connect your yarn.

Round 1:

Join yarn and ch 1 (do not count this as a stitch).

In the current space, do 1 single crochet.

Continue with 1 single crochet in the next space, then do 2 single crochet in the following space (increase).

Repeat the pattern (1 single crochet, 2 single crochet) around the base.

Slip stitch to the first single crochet to close the round.

Subsequent Rounds:

Round 2:

Ch 1 (do not count as a stitch).

Do 1 single crochet in each space around.

Slip stitch to the first single crochet to close the round.

Round 3:

Ch 1 (do not count as a stitch).

Alternate between 1 single crochet and 1 drop stitch (insert hook into the space below the stitch, pull up a loop to the height of previous stitch, yarn over, pull through both loops).
