Slip stitch to the first single crochet to close the round.
Round 4:
Ch 1 (do not count as a stitch).
Start with a drop stitch if previous round started with single crochet.
Alternate between 1 single crochet and 1 drop stitch.
Slip stitch to the first single crochet to close the round.
Continue this pattern, alternating starting stitches to create the texture until you have completed 16 rounds total.
Finishing the Base:
At the end of round 16, slip stitch to close the round.
Cut yarn and leave a long tail (~30 cm).

Attaching Handles
