Notes
The crochet flower bag pattern uses worsted weight yarn but can be made with any yarn weight.
Smaller yarns (like DK) will result in a smaller bag, while bulky yarns will create a larger one.
Adjust your hook size if changing yarn weight.
The sunflower petals are crocheted in the round, so no need to sew individual petals.
It's a "low-sew" bag; you only need to sew on the strap and two leaves.
The finished bag is about 10 inches in diameter, depending on yarn tension, yarn, and hook size (excluding leaves).
*To make a bobble stitch, yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, then stop. Repeat 3 more times for 4 half-completed dc stitches and 5 loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull through all loops.
Instructions
This pattern is made in rounds.
Sunflower Middle:
Round 1: Using the brown yarn, make a mr and sc x6 into it. Then join the 1st stitch to the last with a slip stitch.
Round 2: Make a sc in the next stitch. Then in the same stitch make a bobble stitch*.
Bobble stitches are usually made with 4 or 5 half completed dc stitches so you can choose either one just make sure to keep it consistent for the project.
You want to continue making a sc and bobble stitch in every stitch for this round. You should end with 6 sc and 6 bobble stitches for round 2 (12). Then sl st to the 1st sc you made in the round.
Round 3: This round is just single crochets, we need to create some distance in between bobble rows so they won’t be too constricted.
Sc inc in every stitch (24). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
Round 4: Sc in the same stitch as the join, then make a bobble stitch in the NEXT stitch. Then make a sc in the following stitch. Each previous round stitch gets only 1 stitch in it this round, instead of 2 like we did in round 2.
Keep repeating and alternating sc and bobble stitches for the rest of the round (24). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
You should have 12 bobble stitches.
Round 5: Sc inc, sc, then repeat for the rest of the round (36). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
Round 6: Repeat round 4, but you’ll end up with 6 more bobbles than the last round (36). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
Round 7: Sc inc, sc x2, then repeat for the rest of the round (48). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
Round 8: Repeat round 4 (48). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
Round 9: Sc inc, sc x3, then repeat for the rest of the round (60). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
Round 10: Repeat round 4 (60). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
Round 11: Sc inc, sc x4, then repeat for the rest of the round (72). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
Make 2 of these so you have a front and a back. Fasten off one but keep the second one attached to the skein.
Round 12: With the bobble sides facing out, line up the 2 crochet circles and crochet them together. Make sure you only crochet ONE SIDE of the sunflower for 15 stitches (this is the opening) (72). Now you can fasten off the yarn and weave in any tails.

Sunflower Petals:
Round 13: USING 2 STRANDS OF THE YELLOW YARN: Join the yellow yarn to anywhere on the crochet circles and make a ch. Then sc into the same stitch. Then ch x5 and sc inc into the next stitch, skip the following stitch and make a sc inc in the next.
Repeat ch x5, sc inc, skip stitch, and sc inc for the rest of the round. Sl st to the chain you made at the beginning of the round.
Round 14: In the chain loop, hdc x2, dc x2, ch x1, dc x2, hdc x2. Then make a sl st in between the two sets of sc inc you made in the row below, right where you have a skipped stitch.
Repeat this process for the rest of the round. Join to the beginning of the round and fasten off the yarn. Weave in any yarn ends.
Sunflower Leaves:
Round 1: USING 2 STRANDS OF THE GREEN YARN: Make a mr, and then sc x7 in it. After, sl st to the 1st stitch.
Round 2: Ch x2 and make 3 dc in the next stitch, then make a dc inc in the next 2 stitches. Next, make 3 tr stitches in the following stitch. Then dc inc in the next 2 stitches. After, make 3 dc in the next stitch. Ch x2 and make a sl st to the 1st sc in round 1.
Round 3: Ch x2 and make a sc + hdc in the next stitch. In the following stitch make 3 dc. Then make a dc inc in the next 6 stitches. Next tr + ch + tr in the following stitch. Dc inc in the next 6 stitches. Make 3 dc in the next stitch. Hdc + sc in the following stitch. Finally ch x1 and sl st to the last ch of round 2.

Strap:
You can either buy a strap, or crochet one. I made a simple one by doubling the strands of black yarn like I did for the leaves and petals and made a chain of 141.
Assembly:
The flower part is assembled earlier, but you will need to sew the strap to the top of the opening of the bag and add the leaves to where you would like them to be placed on the bag. I chose to have both on the same side under the bag opening.
It's finished! Enjoy!
