Crochet Little Bear with Keychain

Creating a Crochet Little Bear with Keychain is such a delightful and charming project! Not only is it a fun way to explore your creativity and crafting skills, but it also results in an adorable accessory that you can carry with you everywhere. The tiny bear is perfect for adding a touch of cuteness to your keys, bag, or even as a gift for a loved one. Crocheting this little bear is like bringing a tiny bundle of joy to life, one stitch at a time. Happy crocheting!

Materials:

  • YarnArt Jeans no 40 brown – for legs, body and head
    • YarnArt Jeans no 05 beige – for muzzle
    • Black thread/floss– for embroidering nose and eyes
    • Tapestry needle
    • Sharp needle for embroidering
    • Fiberfill stuffing
    • Keychain ring
    • Crochet hook 2 mm
  • Abbreviations (USA terminology):

  • MR = magic ring
    • st = stitch
    • sl st = slip stitch
    • ch = chain
    • sc = single crochet
    • dc = double crochet
    • inc = increase (2 sc in one st)
    • dec = decrease (sc2tog)
    • (..) = repeat the pattern particular number of times
    • [..] = complete number of st in the round / row
    • rnd = round
  • Finished bear is approx. 6 cm tall.

    LEG I

    YarnArt Jeans brown
    Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR [6]
    Rnd 2-4: 6 sc [6]

    Cut the yarn.
Crochet LEG II in the same way but don’t cut the yarn, because we will join both legs.

JOINING LEGS (I & II) and crocheting BODY & HEAD (in one piece)

    Rnd 5: 1 sc (II), ch 3 (bridge), 6 sc (I), 3 sc (bridge), 5 sc (II) [18]
    Rnd 6: (2 sc, inc) x6 [24]
    Rnd 7-10: 24 sc [24]
Stuff both legs and add stuffing while you crochet next rounds.

    Rnd 11: (6 sc, dec) x 3 [21]
    Rnd 12: (5 sc, dec) x 3 [18]
    Rnd 13: (5 sc, inc) x 3 [21]
    Rnd 14-17: 21 sc [21]
    Rnd 18: (5 sc, dec) x 3 [18]
    Rnd 19: (1 sc, dec) x 6 [12]
    Rnd 20: 6 dec [6]

Add stuffing before you close the opening, fasten off, cut the yarn (you can leave long yarn tail if you want to use it for crocheting ears without adding new yarn), hide loose yarn ends.

    EAR (make 2)

    YarnArt Jeans brown
Insert the hook on the side of the head, between rnds 17-18 and work:
ch 2, 2 dc in the same stitch, sl st in the next stitch.

Fasten off, hide loose ends (if you still have long yarn tail, you can go to the opposite side and crochet the second ear (but the order is reversed - start between rnds 16-17 and make sl st between rnds 17-18). Check if both ears are placed in the same height.

    ARM (make 2)

    YarnArt Jeans brown
    Rnd 1: 5 sc in MR [5]
    Rnd 2-6: 5 sc [5]
    Sew arms between rnds 11-12.

    LITTLE MUZZLE

    YarnArt Jeans beige

Rnd 1: ch 3, insert the hook in 2nd st from hook and work across the chain: 1 sc, 3 sc in one st, 1 sc, 3 sc in the last st [8]

    Rnd 2: 8 sc [8]

Sew the muzzle between rnds 14-17 in height.

Finally embroider the nose and eyes.

You can add a keychain ring and take the little bear wherever you will go :-)
