Yarn = 24/7 Cotton – Worsted weight, #4 lightweight (100% Cotton, 186 yd/170 m per 3.5 oz/100g skein)

Estimated Yardage = 60 yards

Hook = 5 mm Crochet Hook

Keychain – Any size. You can use any type of key rings or Swivel Clasp

Easy Crochet Keychain Pattern notes

  1. Please kindly read through the pattern before starting.
  2. Any #4 weight of yarns can be substituted
  3. Chains at the beginning of rows do not count as stitches.

Slip Stitch – sl st.

Finished measurement: 1.5” by 4”

How to make a Crochet Keychain Pattern

Row 1: Ch 9, using the back loop only, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each chain across, turn. 8 sc

Row 2: Working into the front loop only of this row and the loop left from the foundation chain, sc in each st across, turning. 8 sc

Row 3: Using only the front loop of the current row and the unworked loop from the row below, sc across, and turn. 8 sc

Rows 4 until the end: Repeat Row 3.

Repeat the last row until your piece measures 8.”

Pick up the other end (foundation chain),

Crocheting over both ends.

Row 1: Ch 1, sc into both sts, turn. 4 sc

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Pick up the key ring. 4 sc

Crocheting around the keychain, sc in each of the next 4 sts across.

Fasten off

Weave in any end.

Optional

Adding Tassel to your keychain holder

Supplies needed for the tassel

  • Yarn in the color of your choice
  • Scissors
  • Solid material – Can be a book
  • Tape measure

Finished measurement – 1.5”

Note that the length of the solid material you intend to use will determine the length of your yarn.

Step 1: Wrap yarn around the solid material (book) multiple times. Secure one end with yarn and slip off the yarn from the solid material.

Step 2: Pinch about ¼” away from the part you had tied in step 1 above. Secure tightly.

Step 3: Cut an opening into the lower end of the yarn.

Step 4: Trim off excess yarn on the fringe to have loops of equal length.

Step 5: Secure the tassel to the keychain.
