Stitches/Abbreviations: US Terms

  • ch – chain
  • sl st – slip stitch
  • sts – stitches
  • blo – back loop only
  • sc – single crochet
  • sc2tog – single crochet 2 stitches together
  • hdc – half double crochet
  • fpdc/bpdc – front post / back post double crochet
  • RS/WS – Right/Wrong Side of Work
  • Special Stitch:

    • Beaded sc = with working loop on the hook size that fits through the bead, add a bead to the hook, complete a sc as normal by inserting hook into the st, yarn over and pull through, yarn over and pull through first loop on hook, pull through the bead and pull through the last loop on the hook

Notes:

  • This is worked in the round starting from the bottom toe up.
  • When joining in the round, join with a sl st to the first st in that round.
  • Beginning ch sts do not count as a st.
  • This can be made in 2 colors or a solid color. If making in 1 color just ignore the color changes.
  • When working the bead rounds/rows, the larger hook is used for the regular non-bead sc sts and the smaller hook is used for the beaded sc sts. So, every other stitch is worked using a different hook size.
